So what you're saying is, that he hit the lottery!

With the amount of cheese that gets consumed, you'd think there's some cheese head up there that can contribute.
I think, unironically, it all goes to Green Bay. My working theory is it’s tough to have a great CFB team in the shadow of a great NFL team.

See also Pittsburgh, New England, Bay Area college football teams.

Thank goodness for the Chicago Bears!

Did Kelly and Elko have issues before Elko left for Duke? I came across something suggesting there was some kind of issue between them, but I’d never heard that before. Can someone give me the rundown?

Apparently, Elko felt lied to that because BK told him he would be taking a larger role in recruiting and then in fact did not do that.

What is the purpose of a buy out close and how does it benefit the school? How did that clause ever makes its way into any coaches contract? Seems like a terrible idea from the start.
Of course it’s a terrible idea but someone way back when wanted to hire a good coach and that coach had a good agent and now here we are.

I know there is probably a very low probability of this happening but it would be interesting if ESPN Gameday had Kelly on like they did James Franklin.

The BK discussion seems to have reached the "Parents asking about your ex from 5 years ago who you had a contentious breakup with but appreciate the time you spent together and are glad you're in the relationship you are now and don't really care to talk about the ex".

What a strange title for this thread. The glaze about what Kelly did for our program is weird. Is he a perfect person? By no means, but he left ND in a better position than when he got here.

And he got paid very well for it. He doesn't deserve our lasting admiration for being competent at his job and then leaving while implying that ND is the reason he couldn't get over the hump.

He isn’t the first to hint at this being the case. Idk if we’ll ever hear the truth.

For those who don’t know the rumor - he allegedly cheated on Paqui with a realtor a few years ago, which is why she filed for divorce (before quickly rescinding). In effect this is legalized black mail lol.

First/Only player I’ve seen seemingly offer support to BK.

LSU is something like 0 - 6 when Weeks doesn’t play the last two years

Ya the "rip" and "Bozo" missed big time. Had so much potential, but everyone can't hit all their shots...lol

If true it also depends on lump sum versus installments. If it’s 20 mil over life of the contract (original structure) still that’s obviously a giant bargain. If he’s getting a lump sum quicker/now, there is pros to that from BK perspective

Exactly. I think I'll be waiting for confirmation.

At first glance it would seem hard to argue the "morals clause" if LSU was aware of the moral failure for quite some time.

Yeah we fired BK for "morals" reasons related to an affair that we knew about over two years ago.

On the other hand, LSU could threaten to take it to court (where they know would probably have a hard time winning) knowing that BK will potentially settle for less just so that the dirty laundry doesn't get aired publicly.

BK was the one that filed for divorce.

It does seem fishy. If they did invoke the morals clause, seems BK could argue as to why it took this long to fire him.
