Is there a Beano Cook Jr somewhere who can christen Carr with 3 Heismans before he graudates? lolI’ll have to wait for Charles Powers to change his take before I can get on the CJ train.
Man…
They did a good segment on Carr and ND as a whole on the McShay Show today.
Or if the usc QB has the great game it could work the other way. We contributed to Carson Palmer and Caleb winning the Heisman but that was at USC. We also ruined Sam Darnold at home like we did to Caleb in his final trip. Caleb has never recovered. Now I have to root for that douche now that he’s the bears QB.CJ Carr getting serious Heisman hype now. A big game against USC can catapult him into the top 3. He’s 9th in current betting odds.

Sorry those numbers should be better. 2 of the 3 INTs directly contribute to points in each one score loss plus several intentional groundings and missed TD passes. If he doesn’t throw those two INTs and hits 2 more TDs he’s in the top 3. I’m ok with him being top ten but he has some weapons for sure. Love talk is long gone and no way he could win it while sharing so many Carrie’s with Price. If you combine their numbers they are #1 but it don’t work that way.Mid-season statline:
105/158 (66.5%), 1622 yards, 13 TD, 3 INT

CJ's biggest asset is what's between the ears.
Yes, he's already so good at recognizing defenses and checking into better protections. Complete package.CJ's biggest asset is what's between the ears.

On the other hand, after USC we face some of the worst pass efficiency defenses in the nation. And if we assume those 5 opponents continue to load the box like the first six have, there will be every opportunity for Carr to actually improve on his numbers. Other QBs will slowly come down as their competition gets tougher while he might continue to rise."Caleb kind of sucks" crossed my mind multiple times last night. So inaccurate on some wide open throws.
Lack of any Heisman frontrunner is opening this thing up to whoever can make a splash the last half of the season propelling their team into the playoffs. I think we are too run heavy with no more big games to get him to the top of the heap but he should be a top pick heading into next season if he keeps it up. Love/price split too much but if one of them started ripping off 100+ yard 2TD games to total a ridiculous stat line by season end they could have the human highlight reel to make a run at it. Love being preseason hyped gives him an edge on Price in this regard.
Well everyone does keep talking about his cannon.Never been so glad to read the word "ears" before
Couldn't agree moreThe most amazing part of these throws is that Eli is at least the 3rd if not 4th read in his progression. The throws by themselves are amazing, but even more so when he's got other options in mind first then going to the TE.
When I watched that live (on TV) I shouted - how did he find Eli?The most amazing part of these throws is that Eli is at least the 3rd if not 4th read in his progression. The throws by themselves are amazing, but even more so when he's got other options in mind first then going to the TE.
it crosses my mind anytime he’s on my TV screen."Caleb kind of sucks" crossed my mind multiple times last night.

Relative to what? The numbers could be better.
Relative to what?
This was a question mark going into the season. Supposedly there was a real race with Minchey. He's the best first year starter in America right now.
I think seven different guys have caught TD passes this year? Five receivers are averaging more than 25 yards per game. He shows poise and moxie, has the intangibles the position requires at a high level, he's got the arm, he can move when he needs to, he's making great reads and makes good decisions more often than not.
He's not perfect, but nobody really is or comes close other than the guy whose picture is on the damned library staring down at the field.
What specifically can be better relative to being a first year starter as a Redshirt Freshman? You are correct. I was just stating that they could be better but they could be worse.
He has been a pleasure to watch and as he grows even more, i think everyone here will be super excited he is our QB.
Being both a lifelong ND and Bears fan, I had the same thought. Carr looks MILES ahead of Caleb in his ability to go through his progressions and to make accurate throws. And Carr is a redshirt FRESHMAN in college! Says a lot about BOTH guys"Caleb kind of sucks" crossed my mind multiple times last night. So inaccurate on some wide open throws.
I know the feeling, I’m a Vikings fan so I’m having to try and talk myself into JJ McCarthy. If he ends up good I’ll forget he played for Michigan, if he flames out then I’ll never forgive him.Being both a lifelong ND and Bears fan, I had the same thought.
