ND -6.0, O/U 64.5

Total was 58.5 last week in a look ahead line. Some places opened it at 60.5 today.

This will be their Super Bowl. Notre Dame coming south will bring the crowd energy.Their coach is feeling the heat and will have a passionate speech for them. We’ll have to squash their hope early

They should've made Memphis their superbowl!

Or Ole Miss...

There might be 100 points scored in this game

IF the Irish D doesn't step up, yep, it will be a scoring fest for sure. Could be 45-45 with a minute to go and depends on which team has the ball at that time. Yikes!

Feel like this is the week where the defense finally steps up, not that they are going to be perfect, but good enough that we win something like 41-24.
Yep I agree, I feel like they found something in the second half of the Purdue game

I have faith we will win because I believe our offense is better than theirs and both of our defenses are equally pedestrian. I know only one thing, after the clock hits 0:00 I will want Chris Ash fired.

SP+ has Arkansas projected as winner by (2) (Not great)
Feels like this will likely be a sharp play for Pro's at Arkansas +6 to +6.5 range and I'm sure the public will back ND.

Will certainly feel more confident come noon on Saturday if #15 is deemed healthy and out there playing every snap for the defense.

I'm assuming Moore and Smith are both back? If so I think we win by 14 I don't see how their defense stops our offense especially with Price and Love. Carr hasn't even been let loose where he can throw it all over the field. I also don't see how they have anyone who can stay with Faison or Fields.

Came here to ask the same thing and convey the same sentiment.

While we're talking injuries, is it possible Jagusah is back before the second bye? We haven't heard many updates on that front since July.

My hope/prayer is that ND is going to play to the defenses strengths in this game and not dabble with concepts we simply suck at.

Yep.... getting moore and dawson back would be huge.

Then realizing young isn't tuitt, he's not a bull rusher. IMO botelho is playing too much.

Everyone is like, why isn't young lighting it up. Well, he hasn't been in much on passing downs for some moronic reason. Botelho is playing over him, again, stupid. Young only played 31 snaps vs A&M and 21 vs Purdue.

I hope we start seeing what we expected from young. But you won't see it on run plays/first down contain rushes if that's how they continue to use him. We saw him allowed to rush the passer 2nd half vs purdue and it worked.

Thanks for the insight. I didn't really pay attention to how they were using Young.

yeah i noticed this too. Shades of Joe Schmidt being blitzed incessantly and ineffectively by BVG, simply because he couldn't cover for shit so what else was he useful for

Also, freeman talking about how they played cover 1, 2, and 3 on the last drive before the half where purdue scored a TD and none of them worked. The problem is you played them at the absolute wrong time. You played cover 2/3 early allowing them to have simple passes for chunk yards to get down the field. Then with 13 seconds, they are going to run one play most likely to the end zone, you play cover 1 and put your young corner on an island. It's just really bad coaching/calls.

Now add in bad personnel issues like stroman as the cover 1 deep safety. Stroman is a good tackling in the box safety, he had some good run stuffs in the game, but he can't cover downfield. Why the F is he at the free safety in cover 1. I get the staff wants interchangeable safety players, but that's not reality. It's obvious. Bowen was in during the one minute before haff td, why? He can't cover area when you drop LBs. You have bowen and stroman in the game during passing situations. It's just really bad usage of personnel and calls.

The key to this game is gonna be having someone spy Green but also getting pressure on him. Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa should not be taking off the field in this game, we also need to send 5-6 guys at times and do different blitz packages make Green make mistakes.

Arkansas is probably the 13th best team in the SEC. They've got some talent offensively and Petrino is certainly capable of scheming up something to expose Ash, but they aren't that good of a team. Notre Dame will have better players all across the field. Sure, there will be some points (as I don't trust Ash and Arkansas's defense looks pretty bad), but Notre Dame pulls away in the 2nd half. 45-24 Irish.

I expect it to be similar to this Purdue game we just had. Maybe not put away early 3Q, but not long after.

On the Rakes Report a month or so ago, the scuttlebutt was that Arkansas coaches did not believe they had a single player capable of getting a sack. Instead, they have a player, Quincy Rhodes Jr with 5 in 4 games.

I don’t think we need to overly devote to QB contain. He’s a designed runner. They can do some creative things with Sneed/KVA on blitz/spy combos but I don’t want see overly done QB contains and spys IMO.

I don't think we spy because I expect Bowen to still play 75% of snaps because Arkansas has 2 very big RBs (Russel I think is like 240lbs).

Maybe on third and long plays they'll spy somewhat, but not early downs.
