Ready to be done with the QB competition and start actually talking about Miami tbh
Concerning part for me in this report is kicking game is not where you want it. Jeter had important kicks in last year's opener at A&M and throughout the season/playoffs. You know some games will come down to the special teams. Hopefully, they get things straightened out in the next week or two.Defense is violent
Kenny probably had the better weekend
Receivers are good
DL got over on the OL
You the man!At the end of the day, I just want the QB who can lead this team to win now because they’re good enough to win a championship in 2025.
I was able to get boots on the ground Wednesday and talked to someone who watched practice today. Figured I’d share with you guys what I had, because I’m not normally in a position to gather information like this.
I still like him better than Steinbrenner.Ash essentially has no sideburns. Confirmed stickler for fundamentals.
that's almost as long as Shaun Crawfords ND careerThe next 20 years of the program is decided tonight
Holy shit, my bed is now totally soaked.Kind of disconcerting when Denbrock says they've been "shooting themselves in the foot" a lot offensively.
Because they look similar….?Minchey definitely reminds me of Sunshine from Remember the Titans.
I wonder if they plan on pushing him inside next year?Burgess has played inside and outside
Agree I think we will need a 5th guy to emerge this year for depth we played 5 guys inside a lot last yearReally thought Mills and Cross were good, not great last year (probably due to nagging injuries) and don’t expect a significant drop off at DT between Onye / Rubio / Dawson / Hinish.
But that's Adon Shuler
Lmao no its notBut that's Adon Shuler
and now O Malley first question to Ash is who will win the RG spot
ffs
I get that, but there’s more to it than rankings. Walker Howard was a big pickup for us (I believe both Howard and Carr were the 5th or 6th rated QB of their class). Howard’s now on his third school (as he couldn’t cut it at LSU or Ole Miss) ….Also, it wasn’t like Kenny was a 2-star…I think it's more that Carr is our highest-rated QB recruit in a decade (going back to Wimbush, per 247's all-time rankings) and, like, he might have scared off Dante Moore. People want to see him cook. I think that matters a lot more than his grandfather coaching at Michigan 25 years ago.
Ahh I understand it now
Yeah it's not just rankings (though a Top 5 QB recruit is more rare for us than perhaps it is at LSU).I get that, but there’s more to it than rankings. You either can read defenses, understand the playbook, protect and distribute the ball, and maintain composure or you can’t. Ups and downs will lose you games.
You can either play and you got it or you don’t. And that’s not to imply that Carr doesn’t — perhaps he needs more reps and more time. Or, perhaps you all underestimated Kenny Kool 😎
I show my kids this picture whenever they fight with me about bed time.ok
You know, until he hires a company to remove this picture from the net, he's always going to be "Constipated Harry Potter" to me...at least until Game 1...

Nah, I think they're really comfortable that they kept the two best guys who give them the best shot to win.@IrishLax if we knew in spring what the case would be in August, would we have kept Angeli?
I would be surprised if it’s not Minchey
Does this mean our OL is actually going to be worse than expected? Or our defense is going to be lights out?Defense is violent

DL is very deep, while OL past the top 6 or 7 is young and inexperienced.Does this mean our OL is actually going to be worse than expected? Or our defense is going to be lights out?
Probably OL worse than expected. Its been under-reported, but our line did not have great underlying stats last year. Now, we're not exactly bringing back that line in full, but Knapp had issues with footwork and isn't the largest lineman, Schrauth wasn't as good as expected, Craig still has very little experience, and we're already on our backup RG.Does this mean our OL is actually going to be worse than expected? Or our defense is going to be lights out?
