We’re two weeks out. The competition is all but over — it’s just not being announced.

At this point, I think the staff will just ride it out. The decision is made internally, but keep
it internal. Keep everyone else, namely Miami, guessing and on their toes.

Denbrock is great, and experienced enough to know how to work that room. But FWIW I think if he aspired to be a head coach he would've been one by now.

He definitely comes off as a meathead/hardo, but I think we’re just so used to the non-hardo dc over the last 7 seasons (Lea/Free/Golden) that it’s more jarring. With that being said, Ash seeemd incredibly pleased with the depth and it’s going to be really hard (if not impossible) to screw up the amount of talent on D.

For a pro like O’Malley, I couldn’t believe that’s the first question asked of Chris Ash. Ash rightfully blew it off. Also, outside of one question on Onye, the only other question about DL was Hansen asking specifically about Chris Burgess, a guy who no one thinks is even close to seeing time this year. My kingdom for someone to ask about the fringe guys: Cole Mullins, Logan Thomas, Mukam, Elijah Hughes , etc.

They’re bad but at least they’re docile. Outside of maybe Prister having a grumpy day and getting testy, Freeman and Co. should be happy they can say what they want with zero pushback.

Really don't understand why anyone thought they were going to get anything noteworthy at this thing. Marcus runs a tight ship, and even during the season the press conference information is pretty lacking in substance. The only people who need to know what's going on within the team have offices in the Gug and lockers in the locker room.

Personally I'm getting frustrated hearing this from coaches. How about dummy down the playbook so players can play fast? I mean is our playbook so much more advanced than everywhere else? We need these athletes to be useful on the field. The rules make it so simple to play offense now. Sorry I'm tired of this excuse and just getting old to me.

Kind of disconcerting when Denbrock says they've been "shooting themselves in the foot" a lot offensively.

He's always been a perfectionist. He was very blunt last year that the defense was kicking their ass in camp; It was a great unit last year and I hear this year's unit should be pretty damn good as well lol

If he is good enough, they will do this. But i bet they are using it to motivate him to dive even deeper

We’ve played plenty of WRs early under Freeman? The last guy this was a thing for was Merriweather and he’s on his third school and has yet to prove ND was wrong
