12 weeks recovery sure. He’s an athlete so maybe 9. I think he returned on a quick timeline from his pec injury… he’s still not just jumping in. I assume 12 weeks at least to get to playing… so I’d say 12-15 weeks. I’m not a doctor, I just play one on IE so I could be and probably am way off.
That would be great if so. 12 weeks would potentially only have him missing the first 3 games and have him back for Arkansas on Sept 27th.

There's really no way to know how long it will take for recovery until we know the severity and location of the fracture. Could be 8-12 weeks, it could be 8-12 months
Apparently the break is in the humerus bone but that’s about all I’ve read. That‘s a pretty large bone to break.

Anyone know how Black is doing this summer? What does the staff think of him? Do we think he gets a shot at tackle?
There is no way of really knowing until fall camp. Summer is just workouts.
For an OL, you have to be in pads & hitting.

I'd like to know all the variables before I pass any judgement. I've raced MX and ATV's going back to the late 70's. Off roading is my favorite thing to do. When it was rumored to be an ATV, I thought it was pretty silly for him to be on a quad at this point of his life. But then again. maybe he grew up on them and is a competent rider? No one gets me being able to shred with my athletic background, I'm not your typical demo motocross/dirtbike/duner enthusiast.

The news coming out that he was in WY (Talich's House?) and that it was a UTV changes things. Many modern UTV's are more stable than Jeeps. Maybe Talich's family has them? Maybe they rented or bought them since they have cash to burn? Be a great place to own one. They are road legal in WY. Here in AZ, I see them all the time and I'm talking in PHX Metro, not just out in the boonies. This isn't the 80's with your crazy Uncle Leroy riding his 3 wheeler shirtless, no helmet, with cutoff jeans, flip flops and a heater in his mouth.

There are so many things that could've happened that didn't include negligence, alcohol or recklessness. One thing is obvious though, at some point it rolled and he let his arm get outside the rollcage. If any of you ever rent one of these on vacation or take a ride with a friend, make sure they have arm restraints and/or a safety net to prevent this from happening to you.

Had a local man here get his head outside the cage, simply trying to turn it around…

I'll wait until MF tells us. In the meantime, let's all hope for a speedy recovery and Knapp has the experience, so we should be fine.

IDK much medically but I'm pretty sure a compound fracture in a leg is career ending so in the arm you gotta think would be similar

Just curious, what his eligibility status would be for next season?

He redshirted his freshman year, medical redshirt last year, so he’s got 4 years left counting this year.

Next season, as in 2026?
2 years. 2026 & 2027.
I guess my thought process was just thinking if it’s a very serious injury, he would have time to not only heal, but would have time to get back to full strength. Poor kid has to be very frustrated with how last season went, and how this summer has already started for him.
