I don't have anything to say about the new mayor, honestly don't know enough about him yet. The rest is pretty congruent with what I've heard from family and friends that were overseas.

Sounds a bit extreme, but you do you. I think we just need to keep the bad ones out. I don't know about you, but I'm in favor of now allowing animal abusers and child molesters into the country. We've seen how that's gone in Europe. Maybe we can administer a test to new immigrants:

Do you fuck goats? Yes or no.
Do you abuse children and women? Yes or no.

The Muslim population in the US as of 2020 was less then 2%. Why are people here acting like they're over taking the US. I'd prefer living in a country where the politics aren't influenced by any religion. I don't give a crap about the population makeup as long as the government isn't an extension of a particular religion.

This is the most prosperous nation in history and it was created using Judeo-Christian principles. If the largest growing religion in the US is Muslim and that religion has very recent history of factions from that religion hating/ committing violence against other people based on their religion, it's a legitimate cause for concern. Then there's the second layer of folks who wouldn't commit any harm but would support it/ empathize with it.

Add to that alarming comments made by elected officials Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, and you've got more cause for concern. Do I think they're "taking over"? No. Are there factions of modern day Muslim followers who hold beliefs entirely contradictory of our country's rights and principles? Yes.

I don’t think anyone necessarily takes an issue with that, because those principles tend to be pretty normal and good. I think it’s the people trumpeting them aren’t exactly the kind of stewards you’d want saying it. It’s like those alt right freaks who say shit like “Jesus first” and then have their kids in some sort of Christian militia, no sure Jesus wanted child soldiers lol.

I'm more concerned with Christian nationalists like Russell Vought. Our country was influenced by Judeo-Christian beliefs but we weren't founded on them. Historically religion want nearly as prevalent or overt in our federal government until about 70 years ago.

I just don't get the outage over extreme Muslim views when they're not nearly as prevalent as extreme Christian views in our country. I fear we forget that this country was originally founded because of people of all different religious beliefs fleeing religious persecution. And it seems to me that we are quickly forgetting the establishment clause in order to become a Christian nation.
