I’m a big New Trail fan. That’s terrible to hear and I hope all are safe. I’m in Bellwood, so a couple hours west. We lost power for 2 days here. Helped the neighbors with some tree clean up and then some garden work. Thankfully it wasn’t too bad here. I got some of the New Trail 7th Orbit and it’s great as a 11%er
Na, but I’ve been there a decent amount. From the Bellefonte area so not too far away.

Hindsight is 20/20. At the time, it was a historically bad loss at a time when the program was supposed to be taking positive strides in the complete opposite direction. But to limit the consternation to this board is nearsighted. Hell, the school cooled on his extension after that loss lol

We're gonna have to chill on RB recruiting... no WR in their right mind is gonna want to come to ND and block for the 7-8 All American RB's currently in the room/pipeline with Rudolph quietly stocking the line with the cheesehogs that made him a state treasure in Wisco.
When they started publicly pushing here I was like cool but why? You got more guys who'll want in than you can take already. I must admit, that's BK era brainwashing coming to the surface on me of all people. Seider recruits like he's at Duke or the Kentucky hoops of old. Recruit them all, make everyone feel like the #1 guy in the country and keep recruiting them (like he is Messiah Mickens) just in case. This guys queue will never be empty like ___________ insert any # of position coaches of the BK era.

Definitely a head scratcher
And to think some people wanted to give DMC a pass on that bullshit effort. This is what real recruiting is supposed to look like.

Some pods have said some coaches allowed Bowden to dictate who we targeted at spots. Even said coaches who aren’t there now. Wonder if DMC was a great recruiter but didn’t really create the target board. Speculating!

I was never that worried about Thurman/Anderson. Those 2 guys were taken so early in the cycle on early evals. When they didn't stay on arc, they were processed. Nothing wrong with that as ND fans have FINALLY come to understand & accept.
On top of that, it was a doo doo class at RB. They pivoted nicely to James and Davidson. Would of loved to see if Seider would have landed Davidson cuz ND was close. If that happens in '26 and DMC's still in South Bend, I'd bet the farm he lands Davidson as the playoff run was always gonna hit hard with this class over the '25 class.

Saban didn’t have problems recruiting WR’s while having a stable of RB’s. Yep. All's well that ends well when it comes to recruiting and the cycle ended with James, who looks like the sort of kid who becomes a hell of a college football player. And with Williams and Young in '24 we didn't have to stockpile just to fill the room.
