I am very sympathetic to this young fellow (Merck --- everyone's young to me) because when I have been asked questions (even shallow and essentially useless ones) I always feel some "duty" to take time to answer them.

We should not be burdening this fine fellow with non-substantial, non-specific team and personnel questions. Random "small talk" questions should be eliminated. It's like if I thought that it was OK for me to just walk into Father Hesburgh's door every time some small curiosity entered my head.

I had an R3 about 15 yrs ago. Loved the bike until the derailleur broke right off the frame. Since I loved it so much I paid some carbon guy $500 to "fix" it (no guarantees). Broke off again on second ride. No more carbon frames for me.

I have no inside info, but with first year QBs it always seemed like Kelly gave them a simplified set of duties/responsibilities and a simpler playbook to follow. This kept some pressure off their shoulders and asked the QBs to do less. The next year he threw a lot more at the QBs, bigger playbook, more responsibilities, basically asked a lot more of them. Most cracked under the pressure and it led to turnovers and mistakes. The high football IQ guys handled it okay, but it didn't really lead to improvements in the offense as Rees and Book were the only two that were somewhat consistent and they were more limited physically. Just my 2 cents.

Yes and no. That’s a me first attitude which this team does not appear to have. At the next level it’s a competition everyday. If you’re good enough the NFL will find you and you’ll get time on the field.

Chello Merck. Hope all is well. Question. When MFMF was hired. I'm sure I read somewhere. Where I'm not sure if it was a coach or an AD. But basically he said something along the lines of watch out. Because if Freeman can build a wining culture along side with his attitude/enthusiasm. College teams should be worried. Again this was when was hired as HC. Can you shed some of your thoughts on this?

First off, no.
I know Bryan personally. He interviewed my nephew & my family while ND recruited him.
I became friends with him over time. I don’t need to post his site’s info, because he and I discuss things privately all the time he doesn’t post on his site. I don’t share that info. Also, my info comes straight from players/family of players.
The “full of crap” is the majority of stuff posted on sites by “experts.”
I see “experts” or fans post things, then send screenshots to my nephew or others I know at ND & their responses are hilarious.
I can also tell you for a FACT, that people don’t like Driskell but he has the best contacts on the current staff. He is VERY close with undoubtedly everyone on here’s favorite non-head coach on the staff, as well as another.

I popped back on because another poster on here who knows me saw the irony of a random person saying I’m full of crap and sent it to me.

And yes, I know what is actually going on with recruiting.
I will tell you that this staff’s way of handling things is A LOT different than most other staffs in the country. They keep everything close to the vest. Thats why you randomly hear about big prospects out of nowhere or kids you thought ND was out on, all of a sudden back with ND again.
ND was never out of it, they just keep everything quiet. There happens to be a major big time recruit this applies to right now.
