But we don’t have to make this a Seider > DMC thing at all.

Absolutely.

What this hire is is one of the best ND could get. There shouldn't be much of a drop off, if at all, in the expectations from the RB room.

Pretty jazzed. Now, put a bow on it, and lock up the GM.

What amazes me the things Penn State fans have said on twitter.
1. Penn State will have the best OL next year
2. They have the best coaching staff
3. Their running back room is the best

All pretty factual, and not unreasonable to believe.

1. They just might
2. They just might
3. They just might

I wonder if ND is using Matrix Analytical's CRI services.

Who uses the CRI?

CRI has been used by personnel in every FBS conference. Athletic Directors use CRI for coaching searches and to create a better understanding of the career ability of their 11 on field coaches, Football Ops Personnel, and Head Coaches utilize CRI for staffing to be better prepared each year for positive and negative coaching movement. 3 star and better coaches have CRI for marketing and to enhance their resume profiles and separate themselves from other coaches.247 and CBS Sports use it as the largest source of coaching performance analytics in College Football.

The PSU boards are rich. They can’t fathom why he’d go to a “lateral move” behind an inferior offensive line that was decimated in the portal. Some are blaming it on ND having more money as if they didn’t just make Knowles the highest paid DC in CFB
Inferior OL? Who are they kidding?

What OL, what coaching staff, and which RB room are you putting ahead of them? I'm genuinely curious.
Our OL, our RB room is even say our coaching staff is better than theirs. We have a top 3 head coach, top OC, top 10 QB coach, top OL coach, top RB coach, move on to defense. We have the best DB coach in college, we have a top 10 LB coach, Washington is a top 20 DL coach only question mark is defensive coordinator

Handful at OL and many at coaching. RB - ND for example. PSU has Franklin still, and I don’t think Kotelnecki is that good a OC for a playoff team. On OL, they don’t have the elite higher end talent to be the best, they can be good, but a ND, Texas, UGA have the recruiting talent to be better. Oregon and Miami as well with portal additions.

PSU is just never the best at anything. Good? Sure. But they are not the best.

1. There will be plenty of Olines that will compete for that title, including ND who looks to be stacked in 2025 themselves. It is simply too soon to tell
2. Sorry, but James Franklin still has a lot to prove in the big games, no way they are considered even a top 5 coaching staff right now. Honestly, Freeman has a better resume already than James Franklin.
3. They are definitely in the conversation with Texas and ND. This is probably their best argument, but a lot will depend on Olines. I think ND's lack of a passing game and struggle at Oline this year limited what Love/Price could do; I do not see many, if any, ND fans wanting to trade RBs rooms with Penn State.

The conversation was not ND vs PSU, it was PSU vs the national landscape.
Penn State probably has an argument to be *among* the best at RB, OL and - especially now with Knowles - coaching staff. But so do we, Ohio State, and several SEC teams. I think there are other teams that are as good at one of those elements, if not all three.
They're good - they did make the final four and beat everyone on their schedule who they were supposed to - but they're not uniquely good (as evidenced by the fact that they lost to the three best teams they played).

Pedo State still has a sub par QB. I don’t get how they think they are better off this year? They lose their 2 best playmakers and return absolutely no WR talent. They are a top 15 team.

What 10-15 teams would you put ahead of Penn State?
