Freeman thinks this is funny because it’s entertainment. It’s not a press conference against your upcoming opponent who is being condescending to you and acting like your big brother. Franklin is a tool and I don’t feel bad for him for losing at all. now we just need him to beat the ultimate of all tools the beard painting, Ryan Day.

I also think McAfee making that comment in jest reaffirms for Marcus that JF making the comment when he did was out of line and he wasn't the only one who felt that way about it. Not that Marcus needed it, but it was like "Yea, I'm with you brother, that shit was weird" It was just an awkward and unnecessary thing to say and do in that moment at the press conference.

I think you and everyone on the board know the answer to this.
It’s that former coaches are largely former players, and that AA’s make up a sizeable portion of the player base so it’s remarkable that it took this long for one to be a coach in the final. That’s the answer right? In a thread littered with some of your own former terrible takes, don’t make another one.

You know as well as the next guy this isnt the answer though

It can’t be be said enough that he such a huge supporter of the School. And shows how special his family is and accepts this life style.

Yeah he is a great ambassador for the university, period. Always going to basketball games, hockey games, lacrosse games, etc. So glad that he can back it up with play on the field.

FWIW back when the rumors started Sampson said Freeman wasn’t interested. I guess we’ll see

It was reported when he signed his extension that there is no out clause for OSU or the NFL. It’ll be expensive for the Bears to buy him out.

Feck the Bears on this one

Signed,

A Bears fan of 7 decades.
Agreed, to heck with the McCaskeys,
We're safe they won't offer more than 5 mil a year. Freeman would be taking a huge pay cut. Cheap George and Old depression era Virginia.

Hope Bears get Ben Johnson but they would be the person who wins like. 20 million lottery and is bankrupt 5 years later

I think BJ wants Chicago over Jacksonville he won't go to the Raiders

Freeman is 38. Even if he wants to go to the NFL at some point, I feel like he could easily coach at ND another 10-15 years and then go. I guess its possible interest would die down after being in college that long but that didn't happen with Saban, Meyer, Barry Switzer, Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll, etc.

That clip was a big nothing burger. Basically the reporter said the Bears want to interview him, but he doubts he will listen to any NFL overtures at this point in time, but given how young he is, maybe he’ll at some point consider going to the NFL

May be I am naive. But I think things like morality and ethics matter to MF. I don’t think he felt a sting when BK left, but he does know that a lot of people in the program did, and hopefully that will compel him to shoot stuff like this down. I know money talks, but surely he’s being paid more than most NFL jobs would.

It would be tough to blame him if he goes to the NFL. His stock might not ever be higher and if he fails at the NFL he can probably name his college job.

Exactly, some of the biggest clickbait I've ever seen in a tweet. The video the guy goes "oooo they're interested... but doubt anything happens" ... like how is that even a story?
