I'm not sure your qualified to evaluate an evaluator of talent, but we could certainly put it to the test whenever your ready and able. So far so good in evaluating guys who would tranfer out that A. I didn't think were good enough or B. Not get enough PT at ND since '13. Since you feel like Tom Lemming, how would rate the portal transfers so far? Individually? Give me the top 5 DTs available in the portable in your talent evaluator mind?

Technically NOBODY is leaving the program yet… and with the NCAA deciding eligibility limits aren’t really a thing anymore any time someone hires a lawyer, we might get the entire same roster back next year, plus some transfers.

Just an update on some stuff Merckxe has put out:

Currently have 4 guys signed but not announced. Right now the situation is fluid on what happens at QB and DE. (DE might get an addition once they get more info on Botelho). 2 DTs are in the fold. I would guess there is a safety and maybe another pure CB in the fold as well.

Re QB: we’ve spoken to 4; Ewers is the only confirmed one. Context clues on why else he’s said makes me think Klubnik is another target. There’s speculation Milroe is one of the other targets as well.

Given MFs statements re skipping a rental QB this cycle, I suspect something has changed in the QB room. My guess is that Carr will not be 100% for spring and Angeli/Minchey have let the team know they plan to hit the portal. Anyone have any actual insight?

Carr’s camp said they were good with taking a transfer and giving Carr another year to develop.

No actual insight, but reading the tea leaves:
We seem to be only pursuing elite portal QBs. All the names being mentioned are multi-year starters on playoff-caliber teams. Clearly better than what we have in-house. What that tells me is that unlike the last couple cycles, we're not taking a QB because we have to, we're pursuing ones who'd be a substantial upgrade. But if we don't land one of those I'd guess we go with one of the three we have.
Personally I'd rather develop in-house, but if, say, Klubnick wanted to come here, I wouldn't say no. And if it's true that Carr's camp, in particular, is OK with that, I don't really see a downside.

Was talking to my brother about this... getting Malachi Fields and Will Pauling at WR... plus TE from AR.... either MF and Denbrock have shown some 'Tape' of one of the in-house QBs that we don't know about or....... there is a transfer QB coming...... we don't know about......

Not signing with ND as a pass catching Transfer unless I have a Gurantee they have someone coming in. You can’t go into next season with all the talent and bank on a 1st time QB AGAINST Miami and A&M the first two weeks

Btw, I guess a good reason (at least to me) for why we're not hearing about the UNC and Louisville DTs transferring to ND is both teams have yet to play their bowl games and don't want that info out there before these big games -- No?
