I’d prefer the weather not be a factor. Both teams are located in the Midwest so cold temps shouldn’t be an issue. So then there’s wet from precipitation which can be equally detrimental to both teams. ND runs the ball more so higher rate of handoffs, pitches, etc. If the ball is slick extra care will be needed on the exchanges. The only thing that will prevent downfield passing is the wind so I guess that would favor ND since IU throws downfield while ND prefers short passes. ND has to emphasize ball protection & the IU DC has already noted that their goal is to make RL “pay a toll” every time he keeps the ball on run plays.

I remember the 2008 Syracuse Senior Night game with the snowballs and Manti's campus visit where he got off the plane in shorts and sandals. That was the coldest I'd been in ND Stadium. I despise cold weather and generally make it a point to not attend games past Nov 1, yet here I am.

I was at that game as well, but BYU in 2013 was even colder. I believe it was senior day, and IIRC, the wind chills were at or near negatives temps. Great game, though. Rees and the boys took down Taysom Hill.

Then I was at the 2023 senior game against Wake, and temps were in the upper 50s all day. It was beautiful weather. Never know what you're going to get that late in the year.
