The most miserable I've ever been in my life was BYU 2013 which was a similar temperature as what we're looking at Friday except we also had 30 MPH wind.

I'm hoping for flurries just because it'll look awesome but it doesn't look like the kind of snow that will affect gameplay much.
I was at that BYU game as well. Horrible. But the coldest game I ever attended was the 1991 Navy game in South Bend. As Jeff Jeffers said after that game: “If you sat through that entire football game, you are one sturdy individual.”

The downpour during the 2016 game at NC State was no picnic to sit through either.

I was at 2008 Syracuse and 2013 BYU.

BYU was colder... but I was at 2008 Syracuse with my girlfriend (now wife), my best friend, and his girlfriend (who was an ex girlfriend of mine... a story for a different time).

Not only was the stadium full of ice, but so was the heart of that cold bitch that was dating my best friend. She was a downer the whole time, demanded he get up for hot chocolate three different times, and then made us wake up at 6am in the hotel the next morning because she "had to get home early." She was pounding on our door at 6:15 to make sure we were up.

Bitch, I'm in a hotel room, alone with my college girlfriend. If I'm up at 6am, it is NOT because I'm about to pack my bag and get in the car.

She then proceeded to throw a temper tantrum when we were driving through Kokomo because she NEEDED Panera Bread soup, despite her earlier protests that she needed to be home ASAP.

(She later convinced him to sign up for a joint study abroad trip to Australia and New Zealand that both of their schools offered... she proceeded to dump him and then fuck a local within the first WEEK of a two-month trip. She was the absolute worst.)
But hey we got manti and you were with your wife so blessings 🙏🏻 haha

91 navy was a beast i was only 10 and bundled up just like the red rider bb gun movie huddled between my dad and uncle. I watched pretty much zero of the game.

I like that. Confidence is a good thing.

Cockiness was very good to Miami back when they hired an older, mustache wearing, pipe smoking confident coach.

Kids like to play for guys like that.

LOL at anyone thinking they are rivals with ND. That's like pretending Army is a rivalry. USC and Michigan or GTFO.
Michigan is a pseudo rival. So many teams we had history with and bad blood with... It's a modern rivalry at best.

We played them 2 times from 1910-1977.

We've only played them 44 times EVER...meh

The BYU game was chilly for sure. I took the entire family to that one. We are from Minnesota, so we saw the forecast and bundled up.

The BC game with the snow though...that one was beautiful.

National Weather Service now has it snowing overnight Thursday into Friday morning. Maybe 2-4 inches total. Friday night predicts snow showers and temps in the 20s. Will be picturesque for the cameras but not really snowing for the game. Which seems fine.

They're going to be busy clearing the seats and aisles. Better yet, leave the snow on the seats so everyone stands.

It seems fine, but again, this sounds almost identical to the Syracuse game. Snow came late enough that they couldn't really clear the stadium. Snow from the seats got wiped off and packed at your feet. There really wasn't any snow during the Syracuse game, but having my feet in the midst of all that snow was a miserable experience.

I'd bring a little plastic shovel that kids would use at the beach and try to move the snow someplace other than directly under your feet.

Do I need to travel back in time ten years and reignite Bean Boot discourse?

By PFFs win rate, KVA is a huge loss in this game. Over 5% better win percentage than any other significant contributor.

Kiser and Sneed are the next tier, Kiser usually well timed and Sneed effective at times, stifled at others off the edge.

Need an effective Cross, a LB to step up and a Oben appearance wouldn’t hurt rushing the passer.

Does ND have a cover for the field? I know they will clear any snow off the field before game time if they can, I’m more concerned about the moisture and making balls slippery if the field is wet.

Everyone should wear red. It will look like IU took over the stadium. Imagine the reaction when ND scores and the entire stadium is cheering.

I’d prefer the weather not be a factor. Both teams are located in the Midwest so cold temps shouldn’t be an issue. So then there’s wet from precipitation which can be equally detrimental to both teams. ND runs the ball more so higher rate of handoffs, pitches, etc. If the ball is slick extra care will be needed on the exchanges. The only thing that will prevent downfield passing is the wind so I guess that would favor ND since IU throws downfield while ND prefers short passes. ND has to emphasize ball protection & the IU DC has already noted that their goal is to make RL “pay a toll” every time he keeps the ball on run plays.

Finish the story. What kind of soup did she order?

seeing Tennessee chicken shit choose to practice indoors this week (61 degrees outside in Knoxville) ahead of going to Columbus is making me have big time FOMO that ND isn't playing a SEC school tomorrow night

I still can't believe that ESPN/ABC ran a report about how Tennessee was using heated benches during a game when the temperatures fell into the high 50s (and that the players were complaining when the heating system stopped working).

Not gonna lie, that Irish hot chocolate is like crack, or, what I assume crack is like to people who do that. That hot chocolate is fantastic.
