Right, and I continue to ask you how it should be done.
I have said it so many times. An NFL style divisional winner playoff. No calculagions. No biased humans being subjectively selective. Wins and losses and maybe a tiebreaker or two. And I’d add in relegation/promotion to it as well. No reason FCS teams can’t hit the portal hard and get a chance to move up and perrenial shit housers like Vanderbilt can’t move down a level.

So employees and a salary cap?

Salary cap for sure, revenue sharing is already being discussed. Limit portal entrance to once as an undergrad (maybe 3 years?) and once as a grad transfer. Of course if your coach leaves all bets are off.

Get rid of the goofy ass free agent market in the middle of the playoffs.

Then do what Cack said. It's wins and relegation. Conference Championships are gone and combine it to two big "Super Conferences" Everybody joins the SEC or the BIG 10, break them up into 4 divisions a piece, and do a real playoff

Everything about "old school" CFB is toast anyway. We can at least have it make sense.

My concern with UGA is their defensive front seven being a nightmare matchup for our offense which leads to our FG unit costing us victory in a 5-6 puntfest. Beck at least held the promise of pick-sixes.

I worry about scoring on UGA and I worry about not keeping up with scoring against Oregon. Other than that, I really like our odds against the rest of the field as long as it doesn't turn into a circus.
100% This...

Watching UGA just stuff UT was crazy to watch. We've got a shit passing game. If we can't run, we are kinda hosed against a really good team.

Agreed with all of what has been stated.

I do think Evans is starting to round into form and Love is just tapping into his endless potential. With an aggressive defense our short passing game could be the difference.

Texas was its own worst enemy against Georgia. Racked up over 250 yards in the first half and only managed to put 6 points on the board.

Tech dominated their front 7 - rushed for nearly 300 yards and just shy of 600 total yards.

They have talent but they've had their asses handed to them several times.

I wish I knew people in New Orleans because I'd buy tickets and book the trip today.

I got Ole Miss over USC jr.
I think based on current form, South Carolina wins that thing.

Don't know what they have coming back next year, but man that team just missed a couple of close ones (LSU and Alabama). Beamer turned it around from 5-7 to 9-3 in year four. He was probably on the hot seat a bit.

This is what I would like as well. Two 32 team mega conferences, with four, 8 team divisions in each. Winner of each division would make the playoffs and you could have four "wild cards" for teams with the best overall record. Last place in each division gets relegated to the lower league, in the corresponding division.

I think the best part would be the ability to go back to college football's "roots", with divisions mimicking the old conferences. For instance, bring back the old Big 8 as a division with:
1st Division
Colorado
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Missouri
Nebraska
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
2nd Division
Air Force
Colorado State
New Mexico
New Mexico State
Utah State
UTEP
UNLV
Wyoming
Or the original ACC with:
1st Division
Clemson
Duke
Maryland
UNC
NC State
South Carolina
Virginia
Wake Forrest
2nd Division
Appalachian State
Charlotte
Coastal Carolina
East Carolina
James Madison
Liberty
Navy
Old Dominion

You get the picture. It would be fun, eliminate the committee, eliminate playing FCS schools, leave more dates for scheduling (only 7 division games), bring in relegation/promotion

Oregon has always played soft, fast ball. When they played the more physical teams, they have always folded. PSU isnt a true physical team. ND is. I think ND could slow them down and wear them out. Just like LSU did then they played.

Oregon has speed, but I thought PSU made their D look a bit soft at times. I think ND could do the same if they met up.
Oregon cannot stop the run against physical teams or good backs. They got shredded by Boise State, got run over by PSU, and Treyveon Henderson went for nearly 9 YPC carry against them. They are -- by far -- the best matchup for ND of the "top 7" (Oregon, Texas, Georgia, Ohio State, ND, PSU, Tenn) because they aren't physical and want to throw the ball so much.

What do you think about Oregons skill positions relative to USCs?
