Damn, their QB is 6’5”. I didn’t realize he was that big. Only threw 4 picks all season but threw 2 vs Maryland. The Terps also recovered two IU fumbles but I don’t think they converted on any of the four TOs.

Trevor Matich was saying on Championship Drive earlier today that IU will be our biggest passing game challenge (even over USC) which I'm not so sure about.

Their WRs are very very good. They’re not over the top fast but Surratt and Cooper are big bodies. Need to get them to the ground on the first attempt and limit their YAC

Yea, but is that different than SMU? Tennessee? All teams playing in the first year of the playoffs round 1 will be a super bowl. IU isn't unique in that regard.
True, but this is IU who typically are no better than the third best team in the state. It's a chance to go against the big bully in the state. We know first hand teams get more fired up when they have a chance to play ND than they do other schools. All IU has heard, is that they are overrated and didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. From that standpoint, Bilbo is right.

I see IU hanging around the first half, then the Irish starts stretching it out in the second. ND is deeper, more athletic and faster than IU.

I know it’s his job to motivate his team but IUs coach just comes off as a fake tough guy try hard. It’s a massive game for both teams, everyone on both squads should recognize that

Basically OSU’s rb’s avg 4.8 ypc against Indiana. I think they’ll game plan against our rush so Leonard will have to be on.

The encouraging thing for us is that Riley has improved his reads and throwing as the season has progressed
With RL running, ND has an advantage when comparing to OSU rushing.

ND's DB's will be the best IU has seen all year.

Not concerned with IU but ND is definitely going to have to be able to kick a FG to be able to be competitive in the 2nd round.

With tickets going for as much on the secondary market as they are Im a little worried it’s IU fans that have never experienced anything that are driving these prices as high as they are. Hate to say it but I wouldn’t be shocked if there is a ton of red in the stadium that night

I expect 15%-20% IU. I think ND’s home slate this year ended up being a dud and alums (who generally aren’t poor) are willing to shell out for maybe their first time on campus all year.

I thought prices are high because lottery results aren't out yet.

ND fans had better not sell out, though. This would be even worse than OSU or Georgia, frankly. It doesn't matter that it's an in-state opponent. Any season ticket holder who sells to an IU fan should have their purchasing rights revoked. Again, this does not happen at other "top" (sic) programs.

That’s what I don’t get, if you have season tickets/alum, you have some type of means. You don’t need to sell your tickets as you have money already. Why the hell have season tickets if you aren’t going to the first home playoff game in the history of the sport?

Our family has had season tickets since the 70’s and we’ve never once sold out even as a middle class family with some tough years mixed in. We’re trying to do our part by putting in 8 additional for the lottery to get our die hard ND friends in

I was at game 7 of the 2016 World Series. An Indians season ticket holder might have bought a ticket for $100 that was worth $2,000 on the secondary market. So it was about 1/3 or more Cubs fans. Some people love money more than their team. (I guess we would all have a breaking point there, in fairness.) But it depends on the other fanbase too, obviously. In that case, one fanbase was willing to pay and the other was not.

Oh yeah, I completely understand everyone has their number.

Just trying to frame the context here. This isn’t the 4th year in a row, hosting the 12th seed UNLV. This is literally the first home playoff game ever in the history of the sport. ND season ticket holders are not funding Christmas with selling these tickets, they already have money for that haha.

I'm going with a handful of people from my wife's family. Myself and one other are the only ND fans. And they shelled out the current StubHub prices. Anecdotal, yes...but proof, nonetheless, that current ticket holders are selling for massive profits online to anyone (IU fans included).

I submitted my lottery application two weeks ago and won't have my results until today or tomorrow. At the time I submitted the application, I didn't know for sure whether we'd even be in one of these games, and if we were what the date and time were going to be.

Believe it or not, getting from Hartford, Connecticut to South Bend, Indiana with one week's notice for a game the Friday night before Christmas is not exactly easy. There might *literally* not be any flights to be had by the time I get confirmation of my lottery success or failure. Or maybe my childcare will fall through because people are busy with Christmas prep that weekend. It's not just a train from Chicago for a lot of people, it's one flight and then a connecting flight and then a rental car and then three nights in a hotel.

So I might have 8 Lower Sideline tickets that I'm unable to use. I would love to sell them to Notre Dame fans only but it's just about impossible to sell tickets outside of the "official" resale sites because everyone assumes you're a scammer. There aren't a lot of good options.

Wait, Indiana has the best rush defense in the country? Bedwetting will start early in my household.
Absolutely by numbers, they played no teams with a 1000yd back and a couple 700-800yd rushers at best, teams with a pulse were able to pass against them.

You don't want to get into a Ryan Day situation where we just keep running even if it isn't working. If anything, though, Denbrock throws too much, so I don't think that will be a problem. I'm not convinced running won't work, though, given our OL and mobile QB. We cannot afford bad picks.

IU basically controlled the first half of their game against OSU. They fell behind around halftime because of special teams blunders. OSU has a better passing game than us, obviously, although I'd say we have a better running game.

Guys. Stop wetting the bed. It's fucking James Madison in IU clothing. Take a pill lol
And a reminder they have played ONLY 2 teams this year with a winning record and going 1-1 in those and the win was AT HOME by 5 pts. against a terrible offensive opponent (meatchicken)! Agreed, this won't be a 'walk in the park', but it's not a situation to where ND players and staff can't get to sleep at night!

IU fans might be willing to shell out more for game tix because they won’t have thousands of dollars in travel expenses to get there.

In contrast, ND played 8 winning teams...

FWIW, also coming from New England, I bought changeable plane tickets a few weeks ago, and a cancellable hotel room long before that. It was the only way that made sense.

But, yeah, the days of "only selling your tickets to a Notre Dame fan" are long in the past. Especially if you can't go yourself and stand in the JACC parking lot and inspect the buyers' clothing. Unless you know ND people who are going and need tickets, your only real option is Stubhub/Seatgeek/VividSeats and that's just a blind open market.
So, yes, some Indiana fans will be there. Whatever. We'll outnumber them. It'll be fine.

Frt! I'm just saying there isn't a single team in the field that ND should fear. So why are we sweating over one of the weaker teams of the bunch? Yes, it sucks that we lose our weather advantage. But you know what? We don't need it BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING INDIANA AND NOT BAMA!

Can someone (subjectively is fine) tell me who the most athletic team top to bottom that IU has played outside of OSU.

I don't keep up with BIG 10 midmajors
