Bottom line is that... for the reasons we've all hashed to death already... if you're excluding Bama, it makes way more sense to rig the seeding to put ND at #7. Even if that's totally undeserved by the polls.

Could see this coming from a mile away. There is no argument that PSU should be over ND either before or after CCG. The committee backed themselves into a corner and the process is broken. Oh well.

Pretty much this. They set the seeds to avoid conference rematches and the result is that we get a boring first round game and a much harder overall path than two bad teams that lost their CCGs.

It was a conference Championship game in which they lost by 1 score to the #1 team in the country. Both of their losses were to top 8 CFP teams and they don't have a NIU or NIU-equivalent loss.

Georgia is a much tougher potential second round matchup than Boise State or ASU.
