Every team thinks they lead after he visits there so id definitely take ET’s update with a grain of salt

It’s very clearly an ND-Michigan battle. I do think he has a Texas visit looming, though I’m not positive about that.
I like the Gug's optimism, but I'm not holding my breath.

Wiltfong’s latest article still says UM with the momentum. Not sure if he spoke with him since the visit this past weekend. Singer also thinks ND has work to do and doesn't expect him in the class. Thinks he ends up at UM.

If he watched Al Golden’s defense dominate how many times, and decides it’s not for him, I don’t know what else you can do.
That's what I'm saying tho. Not only the "legacy" piece, but ND's defense is dominant and Golden has proven a willingness to not only play, but lean on young LBers. Michigan sucks and is about to be sanctioned on some level. Just...wild.

Maybe they are offering the bag to him. Lots of guys appear to be flipping from or not choosing Michigan

Choosing a difficult college life isn’t the norm for teens. It’s even less common with athletes

This was my no-info guess. If he saw JOK ball out at ND, and can see all the evidence of what playing in an Al Golden ND defense can be like, and STILL wants to get the bag at scUM...

JOK was probably honest with him about off-field commitments, and NOB has decided he'd rather not deal with it all, and would rather get the bag, have an easier road off the field, and still play in a defense that has proven in recent years that they'll get you ready for the league (postseason bans notwithstanding).

It is what it is, no use in getting upset, especially if they still land Madden.

Michigan has an extremely aggressive NIL push right now with multiple players because their boosters see the program going to shit + are expecting sanctions. They're trying to lock down as much talent as they can before the "revenue sharing" era.

They’re about to announce something NIL related in the near future. I’m guessing something similar to ND’s Rally.

NOB is a hype guy. He likes big crowds, big atmospheres, and my assumption big campuses. South Bend is a smaller city (or is it a large town?) with a student body populous of under 10K. The Team Up North in Ann Arbor has 50K+ students with a stadium capacity over 100k.

Ann Arbor is a truer college town by the traditional definition than that of South Bend. I think that's what he's looking for and what may fit him personally.

Yep, and while NOB appears to be a great talent it is a deep LB room and staff has shown they can develop the talent they do get. It doesn't make sense for ND to get into a bidding war for a LB, of all positions on the defense.

According to Singer (from his source), ND is out of the race now for Wu. Barring something unforeseen, he won't end up at ND.

Could mean a few things. Singer didn't specify.

David Jr makes this a non issue with closing on Faraimo next month. Wish it wasn’t scUM and someone else, but ND doesn’t need him.

Someone with a connection to NOB said 4 or 5 months ago that if he committed to ND at that time he'd consider it a non commitment. His recruitment will be fought by whoever is interested all the way to signing day and those kids almost never land at ND.

It sucks cause he’s be a great talent, but LB is probably the least of our worries missing on a guy like him.

I’m not sure ND is afraid of dropping the bag anymore. Not sure what he’s looking for with Michigan.

Agreed! Some of these kids just look for reasons NOT to choose ND even if it's the clear best option long term, instead they think short term. Some eventually come around a la Amir Carlisle or JJB.

I am not trying to be rude when I say this but who cares?

We have Sneed playing fast and smart, we have KVA enough said, Bowen again playing pretty good.

Then you have Zinter and Rezac with another year under their belts and not sure what they will bring.

And Maddon as a freshman. The quality depth at LB is pretty damn good.

We should all care to the extent he was a potential stud and we watched his brother be one of our best linebackers in recent memory.

But there's more than enough potential red flags in this recruitment that indicated he may not be a fit.
