That's what I'm saying tho. Not only the "legacy" piece, but ND's defense is dominant and Golden has proven a willingness to not only play, but lean on young LBers. Michigan sucks and is about to be sanctioned on some level. Just...wild.
I think the issue from NOB's perspective is that they are currently leaning on several young LBers, but those young LBers will be there in 2025 and likely 2026.

He'll have to compete with guys like KVA, Jaiden Ausberry, Drayk Bowen, Bodie Kahoun, Teddy Rezac, Anthony Sacca, potentially Madden and Ko'o for playing time.

Probably wants a clearer path to PT, and he sees that at Michigan, and not at Notre Dame.

Some kids are looking for something different. Thankfully some incredibly talented kids at LB have been interested in the program. It’s been a blast watching the young guys fly around

Linebacker isn't a premium value position in the NFL like it was, but if you want to be at the top of the pack, Notre Dame is a great place to be for linebackers right now.

I'm greedy and I want to get everyone left on the board, but with all of this being said, I won't sweat NOB signing somewhere else. The LB squad is going to be just fine going forward with or without him.

FWIW NOB also is only ~205 pounds. I don’t know how much room he has to grow but as of now the only LB spot he’s built to play is Rover (and he’s smaller than our current rovers by 10-20 pounds). He is basically the same size as Xavier Watts.

Granted, his brother defined the Rover position for us, but NOB’s lane to see the field in our defense looks fairly narrow, unless he wants to play safety. He’d have to bulk up considerably to compete for the Mike or Will jobs.

I cant see the draw of Michigan at this point with Sherrone Moore as coach and sanctions looming. Their trajectory is definitely trending downward.

Add to this that Golden doesn't use the Rover as much as Lea/Elko. ND's base defense is basically nickel with a third CB on the field instead of a Rover.

If Michigan is offering up front money (just speculation why players are suddenly interested in Michigan vs other programs with strong NIL), and the potential to get another bag for transferring, I don't think sanctions is a huge concern for recruits.

After this past weekend, let’s just say him not going to ND is mutual.
After having to spend two days with his handler, ND wants nothing to do with this kid anymore.
this fact? or speculation?

Does IMG get a piece of their players NIL? I know the whole concept is investing in athletes at a young age to become professionals but the way they have handlers and agents seems weird. I get that with NIL these days having a support staff for the recruiting process is a must for top targets but they seems more involved. It seems to follow the academy model that European football teams use.

Wonder if his player-host spurned him on his visit. I remember Xavier Nwankpa decided he wasn't Irish after he couldn't get into Newfs and Kyle Hamilton ditched him lol

Who was the last IMG kid we recruited who signed with and succeeded at Notre Dame?

IMG is for profit, so getting big bags for as many of their stars as possible is just advertising their services. They dont need to share in teh gravy, they just need the gravy to keep pouring. If stars have to try out to get in (as I assume they do) then they can be more selective and raise tuition IAW the supply (limited) and demand (heightened) curves
The handler is part of the personal services they offer to their most valuable clientele.
