The Selzer Poll, gold standard, canary in the coal mine- missed by a mile. Trump is running away with Iowa.
Yeah what does that have to do with it being humorous that Trump said she was "very good" and then calling her "one of my enemies..."? That's objectively hilarious, especially since he told everyone in advance he'd shit talk her if she gave him a bad number.

Btw I called that the Selzer poll could be way off and why that would be.

Was out at the Leafs game (sorry Blazers!).

Who would have guessed running the daughter of one of the worst war criminals of our time on the campaign trail would backfire lmao. Or running a campaign being like "Yo I'll just be Biden but not him, but him!" you know the really unpopular guy? Yeah him!

DNC is so fucking cooked lol good job! You guys ran against a convicted felon sexual assault guy after losing Roe v Wade, and you still couldn't win. Bang up job, take a bow!

Can't wait to see the 2028 candidate be Mitt Romney and wonder why they won't win lol

An open border, wars, and spending/inflation might have had something to do with this.

I'm not following too closely, but is total voting down in NYC? Much of my Twitter TL is people pissed at the current administration for Gaza etc and a general apathy if not outright dismissal of Kamala because of it.

They lost because they don't understand men and they don't understand how cringe a lot of woke stuff is to normal people. It's that simple. They anointed an extremely left woman from California who did terrible in the 2020 primary and tried to repackage her as a moderate. They needed to run someone like Beshear, Kelly, etc. to have a prayer of coming across as authentic.

The issue is not Liz Cheney, the issue is the opposite. She doesn't move the needle either direction. The issue is that you have a bunch of political class lefties are steering the ship in a direction that does not appeal to large swaths of people. They live in a bubble.

What I want to see is the split of voters who went Trump + Gallego and Trump + Josh Stein. Interview those people and I bet you get to the core of the Democrats policy and messaging problem.

The problem with the Harris campaign was that she could not effectively convey why she should be President. Her campaign revolved around why Trump shouldn't be President. Why didn't that work well? Because Trump's already been President, and for a lot of people, life was better during his Presidency compared to the past 4 years

Two reasons-
1- All of her positions were stated in 2019 when she failed to make the Iowa caucus. They were terrible positions, so she tried to back out of them and couldn’t articulate any of these new fake positions.
2- She is a radical. They invested four years in fake trials and nazi schemes. She had to stick to her plan.

Considering how poorly she did in the 2020 Democrat primary, and what it's looking like tonight, I wonder if Biden kinda screwed his own party over by pushing for Kamala to take his place unquestioned. Do you think a different candidate would have done better had they run a traditional primary, or do you think Kamala still gets the nomination? Which nominee had the best shot?

They couldn’t bypass a black woman who they pretended was qualified in 2020. They had no choice.

The fun will be watching Biden’s staff, who hates Kamala (and likewise back), drop leaks bashing her in the coming weeks.

She's running 2 points behind Baldwin in Wisconsin, 2 points behind Casey in Pennsylvania, and 2 points behind Slotkin in Michigan. She's running SEVEN points behind Gallego in Arizona.

You have tons of people will to vote for a Democratic senator to represent them but aren't willing to vote against Trump. We know Trump's favorables, it's not that they LOVE Trump. It's that she's that bad of a candidate and people don't want a chief executive who was the most lefty California Senator running the country.

Senile Old Man Biden should've resigned from the Presidency awhile ago, but realistically he should have at minimum announced he wasn't seeking a second term long before his disastrous debate. No chance Kamala would've won the nomination in an open primary.

Exactly, they have dumbass skeleton Biden who's like holding on just hoping not to say a slur and making him respond to the freakout dujour about 2,000 random trans kids. If they just ignored the GOP freakouts on this and let them obsess it would have worked better. But when you have people who don't actually care about these things spend time on it you lose out on messaging.

You *can not* run out serial rapist Bill fucking Clinton to be like "Hey Trump is a really bad guy who doesn't treat women well!"

Picking a progressive like WALZ and then trying to have him adopt Kamala's limp dick fake moderate platform is horrible, fucking lean into it if you pick him. Could have had Shapiro if you really wanted a moderate running mate who actually was a great orator and would have done a great job on media hits or would have went on Rogan.

Fire the entire DNC lmao it's like running Drew Pyne out in a air raid offense and being surprised that it went horribly.

Look at Biden's approval numbers. What was Harris going to say? If she names a bunch of stuff she would do differently people would just be like "well why didn't you fix that already?"

Why she was a shit candidate to begin with.

“I recognize we have made some mistakes and people are hurting, but we are on a path to recovery”
”we recognize that opening the border was dumbfuckery, but we are fixing that”
”We recognize that we have projected weakness to the world, but, I’m going to pick some badass to be SecDef.”

I would have tried that. But yeah, they f’d up so bad for four years that they deserve the pain.

Inject it into my veins:

To put this in context, Starr County is in the Rio Grande Valley on the border, not too far from McAllen/Brownsville. There are quite a few more Trump voters down there that I've seen over the past few months than I recall. If the 16 points is accurate, that's a bigger margin than any in the past 100 years for the Republicans and Trump had a greater share there in 2020 than any other in the past century per Wikipedia. Even Nixon in his historic landslide of 1972 did 5 points worse than Trump 2020.

Interesting history in this part of Texas FYI because it's played a part in many corrupt Texas elections like LBJ back in the day. Just as a fun fact
