I don't think they were out of time, they just backed the wrong horse. Kamala didn't perform great, but she made up some ground and performed better than she did in the 2020 Dem primary. I think if they would have done a traditional primary to find Biden's successor they would have had a better result. Just about any candidate probably would have galvanized the party better. It's possible it was an uphill battle regardless considering the assassination attempt made Trump sympathetic to some independent voters and it motivated more of his base to get out and vote for him. The Walz pick didn't help either. I know there were some that weren't fond of taking Shapiro as VP, but he probably could have delivered PA which would have helped the campaign. Walz brought nothing to the table, he was a weak candidate and Minnesota was already locked in blue.
To a lot of people, Walz represented the common man that the left has been increasingly alienating over the past 45+ years. After a lifetime of voting for Democrats, I decided I would sit out the 2024 election due to America gone woke, but I relented in the end and voted for Kamala. Though it was mainly due to the non-zero chance of Trump installing himself as dictator (or otherwise demaging our ultra-important system of checks and balances, which he has certainly done), the inclusion of Walz sure helped from my perspective.

@SeekNDestroy I've got no problem with you laughing with me or at me, but when you want to mock me, you might want to make clear for my sake and others' what you're mocking. When I say:

* To a lot of people, Walz represented the common man
* The left has been increasingly alienating the common man for 45+ years
* I've spent my life voting for Democtrats
* I'm concerned about America gone woke
* I voted for Kamala
* I believed there was a non-zero chance of Trump installing himself as dictator
* I believe Trump damaged our system of checks and balances

and you respond with a laugh reaction in jest, I have no idea which piece you're mocking or even what side of the aisle you're on. I'm about 99% certain you agree with some of these sentiments, as I'm very middle of the road and this post critiques both left and right.

So would you like to tell the class which part you take issue with?

Hi, MN guy here. This is false, even here we think he is a wimp.

* The left has been increasingly alienating the common man for 45+ years

This just goes to show how woke and out of touch w/ reality the libs are, when they think Wimpy Walz is the definition of the "common man". When he said he was brought on to "code talk" to me ..... might have been one of greatest jokes in stand up history.

There may be a lot of people in America beyond your MN friends. I wasn't talking about reality, but rather some people's perception. In the end, this has to be graded on a curve anyway. List the first 100 high-profile Democrats that come to your mind, and no doubt at least 95 of them fit the profile worse than Walz. Not a lot of folksy, flannel-and-camo-wearing straight White male teacher-hunter-football coach-National Guard-factory worker types looking out for veterans and rural folks.

South Bend's own Mayor Pete SCREAMS manly man compared to Walz.

Walz is a scumbag, that being said, MN is so bluestate that the Devil himself could get elected if there was D next to his name.
