The literal soundtrack to my childhood.

Dikembe Mutombo aka the Cookie Monster died of brain cancer. Dude was an elite shot blocker!!
Too young to go that route. Loved it when he would block a shot then wag his finger saying no, no, no.Dikembe Mutombo aka the Cookie Monster died of brain cancer. Dude was an elite shot blocker!!
Still love it when a lot lizard at Love’s asks me… How’s your Peterbilt?Took me years to learn what a Cabover Pete is.
The door is to your left.Still love it when a lot lizard at Love’s asks me… How’s your Peterbilt?
Wonder how many today would refer to Pete as “modern”. It was 35 years between Cobb retiring and Rose’s first game. It’s now been 38 years since Rose played his last game. Time flies. They couldn’t find a pic of him in a Reds uni?
Charlie Hustle was the modern day version of Ty Cobb. Played hard and wasn’t afraid to take someone out. Ended Ray Fosse’s career in an All Star game. Hated the gambling got in the way of the HOF.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I hope not. Nobody doubts his talent and contribution to the game. He still committed one of the absolute cardinal sins of sports... and never fully accepted responsibility nor showed much contrition. If he'd admitted the truth early on, accepted full responsibility, and worked to make it right, he'd have been in 20 years ago. I loved watching him play and he was absolutely one of the best ever, but I hope he never gets inducted. There are consequences to actions. Can we finally put this man in the Hall of Fame?
Maybe the information has changed, but I never saw they found any evidence that he bet on any team other than the teams he played/managed for and when he bet it was for them to win. Maybe they found information otherwise, but to me that's small potatoes. I thought I saw somewhere where Rose once may have said "If there was enough money involved I could consider throwing a game," but there was no evidence that ever happened.Maybe an unpopular opinion but I hope not. You could argue that any Red game that he was a manager for that he didn't place a bet on was, in effect, Rose betting against the Reds. Or, sending the message to the gambling community that he didn't believe that they were winning that night.Maybe the information has changed, but I never saw they found any evidence that he bet on any team other than the teams he played/managed for and when he bet it was for them to win. I just don't feel like the ban fits the crime after all this time. I don't really have a dog in this fight either, I grew up near Cleveland not Cincinnati.
