Confirming that this is a 3:30PM Eastern time game, for all those planning out their seasons. Hopefully this starts better than the 2019 UVA game...

Being the following week after FSU, the context of this game should be interesting. Senior Day and coming off of an FSU win could pose some challenges for the coaching staff that week.

Thinking about making the trip up from SW Indiana for this game...but I can't get over how expensive hotels and Airbnbs have gotten. Any recommendations?

Try looking in Niles, MI. Its 15 minutes from campus and generally on the cheaper side. I know a lot of people driving up from southern Indiana that will stay around Plymouth.

You could stay at my house but you have to share a bed with me.........

Thanks for the recommendation with Niles. Are Ubers tough to get out of the stadium? I'm assuming all involved will be partaking.

You might be better off trying to walk out to like Holy Cross and getting one from that point. Or down past Eddy Street.

Yeah it would be easier to get one just south of campus. Its about a 10-15 minute walk.

Might be worth it if he wants to stalk Freeman. Does he need to bring his own binoculars or will complimentary ones be provided?

Ok so I decided my boomer father needs to go to a ND game. I bought the tickets and told him he's going.
He's not even sure what he wants to see and booked a reservation for Morrisons at 645 how fucked am I?

I stayed in Stevensville MI last trip and staying in Benton Harbor this game.
Good rates and a short drive down.

Decent hotels in Michigan City and LaPorte, and easy 30 minutes over to SB.

If it's his first time and he's able to walk plenty I'd try to get in the major sights/sounds. Library, Bookstore, Basilica, Grotto, Dome, etc. If that's too much walking to the other end of campus just hang out near the stadium and hit the tailgates.

Oh dude I was planning with him this weekend and stated "So you basically know you want to see the Dome and Touchdown Jesus right? What about the Grotto or the Basilica? How about the lakes or the Bookstore for a souvenir?" Then states we can leave the game early for dinner.

Hopefully I can get him to campus for a tour at least so he can go through Rockne's gate.

This man who is literally the reason I'm a Notre Dame fan has no clue on what he wants to see for his first trip to campus that I wanted to surprise him with.

It's a shame the Trumpets Under the Dome are no more, now they play them outside. I've always enjoyed following the band in from the Dome to the Stadium, but you have to keep a brisk pace. Seeing the bagpipes playing is worth doing at least once, they have a schedule and play at various times around campus. The band also warms up a few hours before the game, that's another option on something to check out.

Guessing I'm just gonna play it by ear unless I can find some blue hairs to drop him off with so they can remember Ara together.

We used to get a hotel in Plymouth, about a 30 minute drive to SB. About 10-12 years ago all of them jacked their prices way up. We stayed in Rochester a couple of times. It's about a 40-45 minute drive.

Checking rates at the Holiday Inn Express for that weekend.

Do you mean Rohr’s at the Morris Inn (hotel restaurant)?

There’s plenty to do and see and Notre Dame’s guest services is phenomenal. That’ll give you a map and schedule or direct you to an app you can download. They’ll also shuttle
you to/from locations.

If he’s never been, see the Golden Dome, Touchdown Jesus and reflecting pool, Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Grotto, Saint Mary and Saint Joseph lakes, Carroll Hall’s “Go Irish” sign, bagpipes, organ concert at the Basilica, the team’s pregame Mass (you can enter during it, but will be secluded from it), and player walk starting out of the “God, Country, Notre Dame” inscription.

I went to the Louisville game and saw the trumpets “in front of the Dome” at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Statute. It’s a shell of its former self and frankly, not worth seeing. But, if you haven’t seen it before ….

Have fun.

Trap game.

These guys are terrible.

I think ND smokes FSU, and they should smoke the Hoos, but let's see if Freeman's message about not overlooking anyone holds true

Hopefully there will be another screening of the NIU loss for the players to view prior to each of those games………never forget the pain.

I think Senior Day will provide the boost needed to avoid a trap game. I think 2016 and 2014 were the most recent Senior day losses but those teams tanked by then anyway. I'm more worried about Army the next week.

I think he'll have them up and focused for ranked Army.

I'm not worried because NIU happened. MFMF has the boys focused and determined at this point. Keep on rolling, one day at a time.

That's a steal. Helluva deal.

If I didn't have a newborn who eats, shits and pisses every 3 hours or so, I'd be all over this.
