Haha, the situation does remind me a lot of the 2am drunken booty calls with an ex... those were much more enjoyable times
At this point I'd rather just grab a burrito from Labambas and enjoy my drunken stooper, than the hassle of a drunk booty call

We’re the fat 5 at the bar. Just have to hope we hold on long enough to hear closing time.

As important as the Louisville game is for Freeman, I would say it's even more important for Freeze to get a W against OU.

If Auburn loses this week, I'm not sure they make a bowl.

Yep, this is the 5th of 5 straight home games to open the season and so far 2-2 (losing to Cal and AR, winning against AL A&M and UNM). They still have UGA, KY, MO, AL, Vandy and TX A&M which could all be losses. Somehow they have 8 home games and only 4 on the road.

They won’t win again until Vandy. OU is gonna bitch slap them.

I’d have to disagree.

ND’s recruiting is contingent on winning.

Auburn’s recruiting actually intensifies with losses, as the boosters panic and shovel more money into the burning dumpster.

Now that this is basically legal, I’d imagine some serious cash is being pushed around to land a few studs.

Is it?
We lock in the vast majority of our commits before the season starts, and the vast majority of those stick through Signing Day. And seemingly no matter how many games we win or even who our coach is, we finish with a class ranked about 12th, plus or minus three spots. If nothing else we are consistent.

Agree that certain football factories sort of madly throw money at recruiting when they are losing, but that only gets you a few players, not enough to actually win. Unfortunately for us in this case, one of the players it'll get you will be a quarterback.

I’d say this season of wins/losses affect the 26 class more than the 25 class but winning helps.

Sure. But over the last decade we've gone anywhere from 4-8 to 12-0 and our recruiting outcomes have been basically the same. The only thing that moved the needle (modestly) was hiring Freeman the first couple years, but even that seems to be reverting to the mean.

The best class in the BK era by far was 2013. It was a generational haul for the program, but then you had:

Eddie V defection
Max Redfield never reaching potential
Greg Bryant transferring (RIP)
Malik Zaire’s injury altering the trajectory of his career
