By the end of the second quarter, Purdue fans be like
Nice to see them show a pulse this week, and even better for the younger guys to get some burn in the second half and perform. Love and Price are absolutely electric, Mitchell Evans looks like he's getting his sea legs back, and the defense set a physical tone in this game. ND dominated the LOS, and you can win a lot of games doing that.
Kennedy Urlacher looked like a heat seeking missile in garbage time. Nice effort.
Leonard seems like he would have been a better fit for Holtz' veer offense rather than Denbrock's multiple spread game. They can win games like this when they are superior at the LOS, but when it's more competitive there, you need to be able to make plays in the passing game, and it's real suspect as to whether Leonard can do that well enough to make this team championship caliber. Angeli showed the ability to throw the ball down the field, but also showed inexperience in not getting rid of the ball in a timely manner.
Hoping for good news with Schrauth, Craig and Botelho (who has really come on this year). The longer season (assuming making the playoff) will make depth and good health absolutely critical.
Coaching staff needs to work these guys hard in the coming week, and highlight the shortcomings to focus these guys on it being a week to week season. Or, have Leonard's mom send Cameo's to every player this week.
On to Miami-Ohio.
