it isnt like our secondary goes against their secondary. The metric should be valued more at how do our DBs compare to their WRs and vice versa.
That’s always my thought. I care about what our offense can do against their defense. I’m hoping Denbrock can scheme. 24 points would go a long way in this game

Listened to Carter Karels on InsideND pod. He used to cover ND for SB Trib before returning to his Alma mater to cover ags. Just his opinion, but he seems to think they may be weaker vs the run & better vs the pass than last season. He cited losing 3 key players from front 7 who were integral to stopping run last year. Two went in the draft & one (Walter Nolen) transferred to another SEC school.

He also is guessing that TAMU runs the ball more and that’s why Weigman has bulked up. Klein has a history of mixing it up w/ run & pass and is known to use 2 QBs if necessary to pull that off. Maybe he wants to stick w/ his starter full time for run & pass? RB room is down to 3 and at least 2 of them are injury prone so they can’t afford another loss. The Stanford transfer (3rd RB) has been injured most of his career but finally saw full-time action last season.

Their kicker is horrible according to Karels so he’s hoping he has improved greatly or they will go for it on 4th down vs attempting a FG.

I said it last week, ST may be the reason why we win this game. In fact I may go out on a limb and say it WILL win ND the game.
Irish by-a-billion, sooooo many punt returns.

Exactly what I was thinking. He just said that he wasn't sure the ND secondary was a major advantage over the Ag secondary. I think there's a good possibility that when you factor in Elko's defensive mind, his understanding of ND's QB strengths and weaknesses, and the possible advantage A&M might have in the pass rush and blitzes, the advantage in the secondary of ND may not be all that great as compared to how the A&M secondary might fare. In other words, there may be a lot of factors helping the A&M secondary (including the home field).

Remains to be seen- our secondary might suck, but maybe it wont.

It's interesting- about the ONLY thing that didn't suck under Fisher was our special teams. I was pretty pleased with them all 6 years he was here (although I wish we had a great FG kicker). Pretty much every facet was somewhere between good and great. Now, with coaching change, I have no idea.

All i know about your ST from last season is that the walk-on kicker was so bad that it led Bobby Petrino to comment this year that he may never attempt a FG again and just go for it on 4th down.

I do think Elko will be able to scheme his front 7 to set up the Aggies secondary for success. If you can’t win this game with ND starting a true freshman at the most important position on OL…who will have to face one (if not 2) of the best pass rushers in America, then I don’t know what to tell you. TAMU has zero excuse not to win this game.

Hey TexAg33/LoganIsmyname, know of any good talgating spots you can point me to? Some buddies and I are getting into town around 11ish Sat morning. We're staying at a hotel right off University Dr/Texas Ave so walking(ish) distance from Kyle Field.
A Bama buddy told be there may be a $30 or $40 public tailgating spot that anyone can get into?
Any info would be appreciated.

Keep your head on a swivel my man. SEC fans may be the worst when it comes to opposing fans. On the flip side, Notre Dame is way too nice. I wish they were at least louder & talked more trash minus the drunken harassment of women & children that we see at most other stadiums.

I see this game going one of two ways.
We win close and it will be a sloppy dog fight.
A&m wins by a lot, supercharged by new culture, new scheme and a chaotic home crowd.

Funny, I see it the exact opposite.

If A&M wins it's because it is a close game and the crowd is in it until the very end willing them to victory.
If ND wins it's because they have taken the crowd out of it and the ND offense is better than what we all hope it to be - Thank you, Mike Denbrock.

Surprised Faison nudged out Kris Mitchell. I know both will play but Mitchell was our big WR get it seemed at the time. Didn't know Ausberry was a Will, excited to see him play. That is all.

I dont usually have disagreements on this board. How do I handle this? Am I supposed to insult you?

I really don't think we'll be able to move the ball much against A&M. I hope I'm wrong.

Elko is going to have them working versus their practice squad offense all week showing them screens and misdirection looks Denbrook likes to run i bet
