Actually, he was statistically in line with a number of 1st round OTs that weren't named Alt or Fashanu. He gave up 3 sacks and 9 hurries last year, which is the same number as some other 1st round Tackles like Latham, Jordan Morgan, and Tyler Guyton, to name a few. Biggest difference for Latham was he played 100 more snaps and was a big time recruit from day 1.

Fisher's numbers weren't bad, they were quite decent actually. While he did get beat a number of times at Clemson (Mostly trying to keep up with a LB they were sending off the edge) he did much better last season than he gets credit for. If there was no Joe Alt last year, Fisher gets more deserving praise. I'm not saying Fish would have been a Top 5 pick or deserved to be there, just saying he would have had more buzz.
That's fair, I thought I saw his PFF was significantly lower than typical 1st rounders?

Anywho, Would be awesome if blake was our left tackle, wagner right, and the jagusah injury would have been with him as guard and we'd have way more depth/experience to backfill

He gave up 8 sacks over 2 years and last year was mediocre. Noone will be able to convince me he was really good at ND. He slots in the same group as Josh Lugg, Robert Hainsey or Alex Bars. He was fine

Don't give up your day job then. There were a number of mock drafts that had him going 2nd round, and obviously the Texans thought the same because they pulled the trigger on him. If it strictly came down to statistics then guys like Roger Rosengarten and Dominick Puni would have gone a lot higher. Neither gave up a Sack for the last 2 years, but they also played in the Big 12 and Pac, neither conference known for stout defenses or impressive rushers. It's a bit different when you're facing teams with actual DLs like Clemson and Ohio State.

Back acha. I don't give a shit how good a pro he is projected to be other than how that impacts recruits perception of ND. And he had uninspiring performances against much lesser competition than Clemson and Ohio State.

Notre Dame‘s Blake Fisher is a sturdy right tackle who provides the Texans some depth up front. He’s not flashy, but he has proven to be consistent. Fisher has posted 72.9 and 71.1 overall PFF grades over the past two seasons.

By comparison to all Lineman in the country it's a solid grade. Compared to all ND tackles or even their o lineman in general he was a JAG.

Sure. Again, it's NFL scouts and the Houston Texans organization vs. your expert armchair QB opinion. Keep sounding off though.

Auburn football has BROKEN Notre Dame | Auburn Tigers Podcast You guys feeling broken? Are you insecure? Some fair callouts but also the same 'ole no NC since 1988, etc. Let's get 'em on the schedule! We've never played Auburn. No time better than the expanded playoff era. I would love for ND to put a beat down on Hugh Freeze and team!

Not really. Not really at all. It's not like it leaves us in a bad spot or in a jam. We've literally got true freshman CJ Carr sitting right there on our roster ... and, from what I've read and heard about Carr, Deuce likely would have never surpassed Carr as QB1. I'm more "BROKEN" about the Jagusah news than (potentially) losing Deuce Knight if we're being completely honest ... that was such a kick in the gut.

I'd love to play a home and home with Auburn, though. The pregame eagle flying and rolling of the trees (do they still do that?) looks like an amazing experience to take in.

Very true, but OSU has proven to be a different animal. I always wondered why ND can't be like OSU in football or UVA in basketball.
OSU gets elite speed at the premier positions and recruits great year after year. UVA won with a meticulous defensive scheme in a offensive shootout era, but they haven't been much of a contender the past 5-6 seasons.

Duke basketball is more like it. Great University. Great basketball team.

We should be able to recruit speed like OSU.

Not counting Deuce out yet, but if he's a prima donna like Dante Moore...

I've said it before, but give me the guys that are All. In.
"More Carrs, less Moores."
Yeah, because the Carrs are a dime a dozen as well

Minchey has 4 years left too…it’s not Carr or bust if Knight dips, but they couldnt whiff next year.
I like Minchey a lot I’m just worried he’ll be gone by the time we know we need him. I’m impressed he’s still here now, tbh. But if he’s behind Carr and Angelo coming out of this season…

If they’re rolling trees down on the corner while you’re there, you probably won’t be in a good mood.

Ya, if OSU can do it why not ND. And someone else mentioned Duke, that is a better comaprison, and that's true...but they have the reputation amd tradition behind them. UVA is a great school that found themselves in the top 5 eight years in a row between '14 and '22. Why a school like ND can't put something like that together is frustrating as well.

Auburn is so relevant I have been a huge college football fan since the early 1980’s and I don’t know what state Auburn is in. Georgia, Bama, SC? I have no idea. I could Google but I don’t even care enough to look.

While I do agree with the sentiment… they still have won more NCs than us in the last 30 years. More Heisman winners too.
