I get a notice in the mail from one of my credit card holders. It says that after a review of my account, it is going to change my APR to 24.24% effective May 1. I'm like WTF? Mind you, I have zero balance, have never been late with a payment and always paid well over the minimum due. Along with that, our credit score is in the outstanding range.

I call the company and this lady says to hold on so she can review our account. She comes back on and says "I see you have been a good customer. However, at this time I have no better program to offer you. I suggest you call back on May 1 to see if we can offer you something better at that time."

Time to close that account.
I've got no idea what my current rate is. I only use my card as a convenience, I just pay the entire balance off every month and the credit card company pays me in rewards to keep using the card  I realize that's not an option for everyone and some months are certainly tight causing me to dip into savings. I hate interest though, it's all money down the drain.

I don't know which one of you it is, but knock it off. The Y is just for settling arguments.

According to court documents, Indianapolis metro police were called to the Irsay Family YMCA on South Alabama Street on Feb. 14 on report of a man secretly filming a showering woman.

That's some top notch incentivizing right there. "Come on, you're not going to let this APR go to waste and not use it, right? We don't give this rate to just anyone. Look how high it is; you're in an elite circle. Better than those pitiful losers with only an 18.39% rate."

Good idea. I thought about that after I posted. Debt to income ratio and all that.
Just use it every once in awhile, banks typically close an account if there’s 24 months of inactivity

Well, that explains a few crazy upsets.
The main way to rig games is to get one team to guarantee a loss or to lose by more than expected. Vandy? Vandy??? They were gonna lose to dang near everybody anyway! You want them to guarantee the spread to be -42 instead of -37?

This is cool.

Parents of boy whose heart stopped for 19 hours were stunned when it started beating again

Hopefully he makes a full recovery. By the sounds of it some of his organs may not all bounce back, but he's out of the worst at least. Crazy story!

This is unusual and lots of my old friends from Alabama are posting pics. Due to a particularly powerful solar magnetic storm, the aurora borealis is visible in places where it's rarely or never seen. I've only seen it once in my life, and that was in Minnesota, but my friends got a real show last night in Alabama. Beautiful stuff!

Saw them here in AZ. Not as cool as other folks pictures due to elevation and light pollution. Saw some Starlinks too... or UFO's hiding in our atmosphere waiting out the storm.

My dad's last surviving brother passed away tonight, not unexpectedly. He was 87 and in failing health. I thought I'd share a funny story about him. I may have told this one before, so if so, forgive me. Back in the '60s when he was a young buck of about 28, he had a Chevelle SS. On his way home from work one day he and a coworker who also had a classic muscle car were sort of racing and pushing each other. At about 95-100 mph a pack of stray dogs ran out in front of them and my uncle hit three of them, doing extensive damage to the front of his Chevy.

A week or so later he got his car back from the body shop and was on his way home. As he drove through the downtown business area around lunchtime, a leggy girl in a mini skirt, probably a local secretary on her way to lunch was strolling down the sidewalk. My uncle was staring at her and thinking about how short her skirt was when he rear-ended the car in front of him. An hour after getting his freshly repaired car from the body shop, he's putting it back in. A week later he got his repaired car back. He was on his way home, same time of day, same street, when he looked over and thought to himself, "Hey! That's that same girl I was looking at last week when I..." BAM! He rear-ended another car. LOL!
