The market kind of dictates video game prices. Video game prices didn't move for like...20+ years because that's what consumers were willing to pay. Development costs did go up, although publishing costs have gone down over time with advancements in media and the advent of digital. $150 seems rather ludicrous to me, I better be getting a jersey and physical copy at that price. I think I'll stick with the standard.

Even if we did want to cut devs some slack because of graphical fidelity being hard, I'm certainly not giving EA a pass because their player models look 5% better than they did on Madden 19.

That's anecdotal. Everyone else is continuing to pay for prettier games.

$150 for deluxe editions/early access to both isn't bad for those of use who haven't played Madden in years, either...

I am still in a college football text group with a bunch of guys I’ve never met in person that we all played NCAA for years!! We still talk about different games. One of the most epic games I lost on a missed FG when my internet signal glitched out for a second and I missed a bunny FG from the 10 yard line as wide left as you can get.

Yup. Had a bunch of games against him, but I never beat @IrishLion. I had one game I was up 2 scores and thought I had a good chance, and he ended up orchestrating two crazy 4th quarter drives and he went for two on the last one instead of going for the tie. I died inside. :laugh:

I think I vaguely recall that matchup... did that one include a successful onside kick recovery??? It may have been Dre that I got with the 1-in-1000 onside kick recovery in a comeback.

@bkess8 is the guy that had my number. I think I beat him once or twice, then he ran off three or four in a row against me. Couldn't stop his option attack!

I had one, I forget who it was against. I was up 1 score with the ball. Like 7 seconds left and it was 4th and long. Figured I'd just chuck it deep and waste the rest of the clock. Ball gets intercepted with 1 second left. They turn around and throw a hail mary to win it. Never been so close to breaking a controller before lol.

Im trying to understand the justification for charging $150. I refuse to do microtransactions or cosmetics. Do we know if there is some sort of pay to play or pay to be good aspect on top of the $150? I tend to value my games by how many hours I play it and its usually around a $1/hr is fine.

My favorite games lately have been Baldurs gate, Elden Ring, and I have so many hours into those its crazy. I paid for Diablo IV for the base game but I have not spent a single cent on anything else. I just haven't gotten the same feeling playing that as I did BG3 and ER. I have a lot of hours into each season of DIV but its like I get to LVL 80- 100 and then its like what now......

Imagine if EA added microtransactions you could buy in game to cause some real glitchy stuff. They'd make a fortune

I think earlier someone mentioned that the $150 gets you NCAA and Madden and some other stuff for Madden. So if you are going to get after it in both games it could be worth it.

I was just thinking about what kind of option attack ill be running and recruiting to! I can f’ing wait boys! Fire up the new thread boys and lets start recruiting members!

Unless the 4500 “CFB Points” are in-game currency that you can put towards recruiting/NIL, it seems like the extra money and perks boil down to early access and Ultimate Team players/cards.

As long as dynasty doesn’t become “Pay to Win,” I’m good.

I don't care about any of that stuff, but for someone that does $10 doesn't seem that unreasonable. Both games by themselves would be $140 right?
