Trent Miles leaving LSU for Notre Dame as an analyst? How big of a deal is this?
Maybe Denbrock vouched for him and wanted to bring him along. Couldn’t tell you much about him though

Wait I just read he was an assistant once at ND already, don’t remember him at all

Well respected coach. Has a history with ND and Denbrock. Can't ever have too many analysts. While we don't know what he will be tasked to do at the moment, I would say it is a great hire.

Edit: I should say I don't know exactly what his role entails (I would guess advanced scouting of defenses) but he is an offensive analyst. Considering the LSU offense the last two years I'd say he's likely invaluable to Denbrock.

Miles spent five years (2017-21) as offensive quality control and assistant running backs coach with the Philadelphia Eagles

Mandel structures it in the way a gambler tells you about their wins."I won over $500,000!". Actually, you lost 80k.
Use to work with a guy that always bragged how he hit big on his trips to Vegas. He always forgot to mention that he lost it as quick as hit won it.

Never heard of him tbh, but couldn’t hurt. Makes sense that Denbrock would want “his guys” and our offense has excelled the past 2 seasons.
I think he was head coach at Indiana State when I was in college. They are in the same conference as ND State.

He was. Jesse Minter was his DB coach. Rick Minter might have been on his staff as well. Did pretty good at ISU, then took a gig at Georgia St. Now that it matters, but he's from Terre Haute.

With so much staff turnover recently in p5 football, it’s apparent hiring really is a club. Once you’re in you’ll usually get supported if u get fired down the road.

Trent Miles made Indiana State football respectable for five years. Most of you won’t understand how Herculean of an effort that takes, but we were good under Trent. He’s a good coach. This a W for us.

Sad deal. Moron threw his life away.

The state of Louisiana, sadly, has far too many fatherless kids that grow up and turn out to be losers and trash like their unknown fathers. Happy Friday!

I kind of get it... if they had solid numbers on the DL. You get bad vibes if they only thing the guy talks about his whole visit and via every phone conversation is "how much can you give me?"

But when you're hitting the portal hard for primarily ONE position group where you've only got like 3 true d-linemen, and you pretty much whiff on anybody of note? And you're trying to do it at a school that has been buying players since before it was actually legal?

Maybe you should suck it up and go ahead and shop down the necessary aisle, BK.

BK is such a poor fit for LSU.
You think? I’m not implying he’ll win a NC, but in two seasons, he’s won his division and brought the team to the SEC Championship and produced a Heisman winner, one he convinced to transfer.

The DT situation sucks; however, it wasn’t reasonably foreseeable that Masson Smith would jump into the NFL draft (smart move as he was a 2nd round pick).

We missed on a couple of transfers playing the NIL game. Sucks as at this point, we just need warm bodies, but not the end all be all. They’re currently recruiting their asses off. Hope it sticks.

Agree w/ all of this.
