What did I miss? Is he taking visits?
Nothing official yet, but Loy posted an article saying he was "worried" about Deuce's commitment with Alabama getting a visit here. Either official or unofficial. Apparently, Deuces family has a great relationship with the Bama staff (the OC specifically I think). And with the ND staffs view on committed prospects taking visits, it'll be gut check time on whether they they stick to that, or allow it and keep recruiting him

Im not concerned. Our qb room has lots of good young prospects and we get the qb1 portal qb every year anyway.

I'm not a subscriber so I don't know what Loy posted, but ISD has said that the only visits Knight has scheduled are to South Bend. Said Bama and DeBoer will continue calling, so ND will have its work cut out for them, but nothing about imminent visits elsewhere.

Does Loy say something different?

Essentially the same thing. Seems like behind closed doors a bama visit is being considered.

Loy is saying Alabama is a serious threat. It's not just that they're in contact with him (many are, he's a stud QB) but he likes Bama, the staff, and is working on a potential visit there.

My opinion, Ole Miss and Bama are both threats. He speaks to Ole Miss daily, and I think Lane Kiffen is a top 3 coach, home town, and will make a title run this year, making them all the more attractive. But on Ole Miss that's me speaking not Loy.

Top 3 coach in Mississippi, absolutely

Just my opinion, he does more with less than anyone hovering around the top tier. Always competes and gives the elites good games, and I think they could win it all this year.

Kirby definitely above him, maybe Oregon coach if I'm placing a bet early, but not sure I'd take anyone else over Kiffen today.

No need to push him out or do anything rash, IMO. But, the difficult conversations should be had. And, be prepared to act on whatever he does. If he takes that visit then be prepared to have QB's to ND for visits as well. All the while making sure he knows he's wanted in South Bend.

Why not? They have pushed others out for visiting while be committed.

Cut bait and move on. Too much social media backlash if he de commits this board couldn’t handle it. IE outage coming.

Down voting a kindly offered opinion perfectly encapsulates the group of 6 IE mud draggers, lol. No thinking, just muscle memory at this point to get mad anytime I post.

Can you imagine voluntarily choosing to attend Mississippi over Notre Dame?
I can when you're from Lucedale, MS, and when Ole Miss has Lane Kiffin, an offensive mastermind, as your head coach. Face the facts, South Bend is 900 + miles away and the University of Notre Dame, a small, private, well to do Catholic university is likely a mammoth of a culture shock for one from south Mississippi.

Yeah it's not a surprise that a young guy from Mississippi might feel more at home in MS and that being a big draw.

What did the Loy's Irish Illustrated article state more or less?

I was always skeptical and never got overly excited on Deuce's commitment. It was too early in the game. We don't really recruit Mississippi, we're attempting to pluck him from the deepest depths of SEC territory (and not a major metropolis like Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Houston...), it's a far, far ways away from home, the kid has no connection to Notre Dame or Michiana (at least, not that I know of), you've got Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, etc. all a stone's throw, it just never made sense. The Nashville-Lipscomb thing was "odd" and it didn't pan out. I'm just skeptical and not getting my hopes up.

Again, I can't see Loy's article, but I really don't like "commitments" taking clandestine visits to other schools...that just irks me.

If he ultimately ends up committing? Great! But I'm still doubtful....

Lol - not even Brian Kelly? Norvell? Dabo? Sark? Day? DeBoer?

This is why you get clowned on.
