OMM, curious if you've looked deep into the Dyatlov Pass incedent in the 1950s?

This is probably the most fascinating documented and unexplained story I've heard. You have to research it deeply because each podcast/documentary has small additional details that add up to the bizarre story. I've watched probably 4 documentaries on it and 1 podcast. Each provided value and I feel like this story is missing one great doc that ties every detail together.

This one has always intrigued me too. But I have always half written it off as how much can you trust coming out of the Soviet Union

Cliffnotes of what makes it unusually bizarre -

- Tent was cut open from inside
- Ran out in -/0 degree weather in middle of night
- Eyes, tongues cut out, and blood found in stomach, indicating cut out while alive
- down by forest line where some ran, branches cleanly snapped at 10-15 feet
- some in underwear/pajamas, some found wearing others' clothes
- some of the bodies were crushed inside with the strength of a car compressor (bones to gravel) with no exterior lacerations or bruising
- radio active material on clothes but not on bodies
- camera found with footage of orbs in sky

Again I've frankensteined this list together because every episode/podcast adds a small more info the last didn't.

Not sure this will share well but towards the end of this one, they mentioned thr recovered camera. These two are dorks and nothing starts til 5 minutes in, but it's a decent summary of events

I'm 100% convinced that there's nothing supernatural or paranormal, and that everything has a non-supernatural explanation, even if we don't know what it is. However, I had a weird experience decades ago and I still don't have a reasonable explanation for it.

In my early to mid twenties, I dated a young woman who lived in the same city as me and was also a Bama student. Her dad was a CPA with a practice housed in an 8-room detached office building that he owned. During breaks and in the summer, I often worked for him processing paperwork and had a key to the building. One night during spring break of '84, I worked late and was there by myself. I'd told my gf that I'd finish around 9 and then come to her house to hang out. At 9 I called her to tell her I was leaving and would see her in 10 minutes.

Just as we were about to hang up, there was a huge crash from down the hallway. I know I didn't imagine it because it was so loud that my gf heard it over the phone and said, "Oh dang! What was that?" I knew exactly what it was. There was a kitchen in the back of the building and there were two shelves on the wall that were made of 6 ft. 1"x12" boards on L-brackets, and both shelves were loaded with pots, skillets, lids, and baking sheets. I clearly heard those shelves collapse and all those pots & such bounce off the counter and into the floor. I even clearly heard one of the lids skitter across the floor and spin a bit. That's a distinctive sound.

I told her what had happened and that I should clean it up before leaving. When I walked back to the kitchen though, there wasn't anything out of place. All the pans were still on the shelves, which were both firmly attached to the wall. I looked through every drawer & cabinet, the oven & fridge, checked all the other offices and storage room. I even walked around the outside of the building. Nothing. When I got to her place and told her dad, he just laughed and said he'd been hearing weird noises in that building for 20 years. The next day, everyone in the office looked for what had made such a racket, but we never found anything. Forty years later I still have no explanation for what I heard.

How can you dismiss that? And if you're a believer, the Bible is filled with supernatural.

Out of boredom maybe watch/listen to the Dyatlov Pass incident. It's just one example but obviously I'd recommend it.

Everyone knows multiple people with unexplained phenomenon, but they're all individually dismissed and will be forever. Theres no collective body collecting and categorizing stories, and the people who experience have lives to live. Maybe that's by design.

Ok. When I was in college, I worked at a coffee shop between classes. I befriended many people, including an elderly couple. They were very kind and were interested in my studies.

I noticed that they didnt come in for several weeks. Then, one day the husband comes in and we have a nice conversation. He tells me goodbye and then tells me to take care of myself.

About a week later the wife comes in and I ask where her husband is and that I talked to him in the very seat she sat in about a week ago. She got somber and told me that he had past away 6 weeks ago. My hair stood up and I got chills. I apologized and said that I must have gotten customers mixed up.

But it was him. We had a freaking conversation about my future. That is the one and only thing in my life that I can't explain.

I really don't have one. Everything I've ever thought of comes up woefully short. A year or so later some HVAC work needed to be done in the building and I asked them to see if any ductwork had collapsed, but the workers said nothing was out of place. I really have nothing. I'd just write it off to being tired and having a brain glitch except that my girlfriend heard it too. It was such an easily identifiable sound. I clearly heard dozens of metal pans hit the counter, bounce off it into the floor, and skitter across the floor... a VERY distinctive, only-one-thing-sounds-like-that sound... and yet there was nothing out of place. It still bugs me after 40 years! :)

Even with it being in the backwoods of The Soviet Union the biggest thing for me is that they were on a Grade 3 certification hike which is grueling to say the least and there were members who had never completed or come close to completing a trek of that difficulty. It’s completely plausible to me that one or more of the people succumbed to the isolation and difficulty of it. It’s also equally plausible that there were a bunch of coincidences that people after the fact observes which not have been directly related to the events encountered by the team.

You dating another woman is the most super natural thing posted in this thread. :)

Sounds like you're not "100% convinced that there's nothing supernatural or paranormal"....just my opinion. Do you believe in miracles?

I'm as certain of there being nothing supernatural in this world as I am of anything. I'm very much a rationalist and scientific thinker... and no, I don't believe in miracles.

Do you think whatever sound you heard, did in fact happen, we humans in our current state just can't rationally or scientifically explain it yet?
