Not sure if this is the best spot. But 2 things stood out in Sampson's mailbag:
  1. targeting 7 transfers (qb, 2 wrs, ot, de, 2 dbs)
  2. Last time they want to use the transfer market for a qb in the short term
Should bring in a DE and DT. Peeoples from Duke and a DE, one of the DB's may be Arizona State Clark who is kinda like Harper

He also slid in a tidbit about Notre Dame making a hire to enhance some of Freeman's in game decision making
Happy to hear this. After seeing a full season of Shrader, I genuinely believe that if Estime doesn’t run in the TD near the end of Duke, we miss the FG and lose that game. Still disgusts me that we were talking about settling for the 50-yard FG given what Shrader had already shown us on the year (strong leg, fairly inaccurate).

The end of half management has also been pretty poor this year.

He had literally already missed one that game! It was such a self-own for MF to admit he just wanted to settle for the field goal.

Darin Pritchett was spot-on yesterday. The situation is a mess at the program. Chansi leaving or fired the day after the HC said he was hoping to keeping the staff doesn't jive. Clearly, blaming an experienced position coach ..... when the OC is responsible for teaching the position coaches as well. Its a mess.

From what I gathered the guys leaving are the ones one licked Stuckey the guys staying are the ones who threatened to transfer if he wasn't let go. So if we kept Stuckey we probally lose Colzie, Thomas and Greathouse.

Greathouse is good. The other two are warm bodies

well no wonder stuckey got fired.
Something doesn't jive. The day before Stuckey left ND... Freeman said: "If it was up to me we would keep the staff..."

1. "If it was up to me..." WTF??? You are the Head Coach. Or is this Savvy Jack doing something? OR
2. Did Stuckey say to Freeman he can't be a position coach under War Daddy???

Its clear this is a mess though. This inexperience is showing its ugly head again and again.....

Stop taking everything said in press conferences about coaches' futures at face value.

its that or Jack's fault NO OTHER OPTIONS!
Yea that’s not it…. It will be great when the new AD is actually managing this program.

I am very confident Freeman didn’t advocate firing Chansi. Stay tuned more will come out.

"what did Davonte do?" about to be replaced with "what did Chansi do?"

Maybe stuckey was fired by the admin for a HR violation or something like that

Wouldn’t the wording around everything have been very different?

Maybe he killed 10 hookers
Wouldn’t Freeman have had to adjust his response to: “if it were up to me nobody on my staff would have killed all those hookers”
WTF are press conferences even for if the coach is just going to go up there and be less than 100% honest?

Freeman certainly took ownership of it in his statement.
I wouldn't put too much weight on what Freeman said at his press conference. He seems to have a tendency to soft-pedal things in that format. And, TBH, "if it was up to me..." could also mean "Well if it was up to me, Chansi wouldn't suck at developing WRs, but he does, so he leaves me no choice."

What would jacks reasons be for firing chansi over freemans head?
