tbf MF has always said this is how he wants to play football so we can't be expecting Sean Lewis or anyone like that to ever rock up at ND i don't think.Tressel Ball

possible with his comment on being spooked by the pick 6. Every big game we've had this insanely conservative offense. IT works when our Defense gets a bunch of turnovers and scores points like Clemson last year or USC this year. It doesn't work once you fall behindII podcast theorized that Parker is running the offense MF wants to see run rather than the one Parker himself wants to run. Basically MF's inert conservatism is overriding everything on that side of the ball
Freeman is fucked.II podcast theorized that Parker is running the offense MF wants to see run rather than the one Parker himself wants to run. Basically MF's inert conservatism is overriding everything on that side of the ball
agree we aren't built to come from behind, but i'm still baffled why we abandoned the run in the second half. had plenty of time. estime was lighting it up. really disappointed by that. it's like freeman was just hoping to get lucky.possible with his comment on being spooked by the pick 6. It was run on first down, get minimal yards, then go to obvious pass since we were behind. The issue is we did well when throwing on first down but didn't do it much until under 3 minutes.agree we aren't built to come from behind, but i'm still baffled why we abandoned the run in the second half. had plenty of time. estime was lighting it up. really disappointed by that. it's like freeman was just hoping to get lucky.
We're blaming the wrong guy here...II podcast theorized that Parker is running the offense MF wants to see run rather than the one Parker himself wants to run. Basically MF's inert conservatism is overriding everything on that side of the ball
estime getting 3 carries in the second half is a big fail.It was run on first down, get minimal yards, then go to obvious pass since we were behind. The issue is we did well when throwing on first down but didn't do it much until under 3 minutes.
i doubt an AD has that much say like that.Maybe new AD gives him no choice but to adapt.... or otherwise, to please find his way out the door?
Absolutely, he wasn't even in a ton. They had love in a lot. I think they were hoping to hit a monster gain since we were backed up each time with love on a run or wheel route, just never looked his way on the wheel route.estime getting 3 carries in the second half is a big fail.
Lol sure he does. You’re employed at the pleasure of the AD/school as a coach. If the boss says “change” and you refuse…pack your shit.i doubt an AD has that much say like that.
i would imagine a AD just cares about results. I doubt they care much what the playcalling/team style is likeLol sure he does. You’re employed at the pleasure of the AD/school as a coach. If the boss says “change” and you refuse…pack your shit.
Wake's D isn't as good as Pitts. The last two offenses with a pulse to play wake were vtech and fsu. They both had around 500 yards total offense and both scored over 30. If ND plays bad/average both sides of the ball this week we probably win 30-20. Should be more like 40-13If we don’t hear about this today or tomorrow are we waiting for the off-season or pre bowl game at least?
If our O lays another egg next week does he get canned before Stanford? Freeman will be criticized for not dumping porker but he won’t be if he canned him right now. If he keeps this hack then he deserves to go down with the ship.

This is my fear. We'll see if it holds true in his offseason hiring process.II podcast theorized that Parker is running the offense MF wants to see run rather than the one Parker himself wants to run. Basically MF's inert conservatism is overriding everything on that side of the ball

Troy Smith threw for 2500 yards that year. Hardly flipping it around, looking back he only threw for over 300 yards once after week 1 against Northern Illinois. Quinn threw for 1,000 more yards than him....Colt Brennan threw for 3000 more yards.Where are people getting this erroneous notion? Troy Smith won the Heisman in 2006 flipping the ball around in a pass-first spread. They put 42 up on Michigan that year when Michigan had a great defense. Marcus Freeman was on that team.
Tressel Ball was a thing in the early 2000s when OSU had Craig Krenzel at QB. There is no way that MF is aspiring to that on offense.
If MF wants ball control, that is fine, plenty of good offenses want to accumulate first downs and run the ball. But you need competent offensive design and complementary play-calling. We don't have a problem with offensive philosophy, we have a problem with competence.
I left it out, because I was responding to the "flipping it all over the place in a pass first offense" to the tune of 2,500 yards. He ran for 204 yards and completed 65% those numbers don't win you the Heisman in 2023There’s more to qb position than yards which you’ve left out
He completed 65% of his passes and had 8.2 yards per attempt. That's closer to Drew Pyne (8.0 last year) than Sam Hartman (8.8 this year). There’s more to qb position than yards which you’ve left out
Word is because he's doing what his boss says....Can't fire a guy that's following orders. Why is Gerad Parker still employed as the OC at Notre Dame?
