As I’ve been on Twitter I’ve come across a couple of Zach Smith videos where he has commented on this scandal.

Evidently he’s got some kind of podcast career going. Anyhow, watching Zach comment on this scandal is extremely weird.

Just spitballing here but maybe they’re being advised to be quiet while the investigation plays out. Schiano sure did seem like he wanted to say something during that halftime interview.

My fear is that this Stallion guy seems a little unstable... Michigan is going to try to make him look like the lone gunman and maybe he is dumb enough to take one for the team.

Imagine going to a game and seeing some rando recording for long periods of time after all this stuff is coming out. I’m sure UM isn’t alone in this scheme and innocent fan recording might be looked at differently to some degree. I have been to a few games around the Midwest and the game has stopped because of drones over the stadium. Amazing how tech has muddied things from analytics to spy gate to this

It’s like an old story about the 1980s New York Yankees. Lou Piniella was managing them, and during a game Steinbrenner calls the dugout. He yells at Piniella that the opposing pitcher was cheating, and he demanded that Piniella go to the umpires to have him checked. Piniella said he wasn’t going to do that. And, every team (plus all the money and power that comes with them) that is vying for that 4th spot will think they should get in over Michigan based on recent findings.

Sorry late to respond to this. But yeah, I imagine the heat is going to be turned up quite high on the committee when it comes to picking the first 4 because if UM is in over literally any other team who deserves a shot, there's going to be a massive uproar.

Glad Stoops said it. There is a difference with trying to figure out what the offense is doing in game and adjusting your defense to it and committing espionage to be able to know exactly what their calls are. And I'm so glad that he is pointing out how that isn't normal. I constantly hate the talking heads that go "this happens everywhere". Comments like those are so often made in ignorance, and they downplay the severity of rule breaking if not outright encourage it. Even if bad things do happen everywhere, you should stand steadfast against it.

Not a great look for the "he was a rogue agent" narrative when he's in the team locker room holding the B10 trophy. And if there's anything close to true about them sharing signs with South Carolina, it's curtains.
