The B1G is already collecting evidence and waiting for more before meeting. This will require a meeting of representatives from all the schools as the punishment will require their approval if they want to go above a two game punishment which is the limit of the commissioners authority. I would imagine he will recommend something more severe that should be approved.

Imagine how uncomfortable the rep from Michigan is going to feel sitting in that meeting. Lol

Whatever the penalty, it has to be enforced this year. The NCAA would look like the bufoons that they are if Michigan is playing in the playoffs while under investigation for cheating.

The NCAA has to be in a really tough spot here. It takes longer then 2 months to fully investigate something like this and take action, however there is enough evidence already out there that we already know that it is likely they will have to vacate at least two seasons. With what is already out there you cannot let Michigan in the playoffs with this high of a likelihood you will have to vacate those game. Imagine what would happen if they actually won, just not fair to the other four teams

It has to be the B1G to stop this in time to matter. Need the other 13 schools to say nope.

What in the last 20 years would lead you to believe that the NCAA is worried about looking like bufoons?
I get it, I really do. But this feels completely different. The act of actually competing on the field is a zero sum game. Every team that has played Michigan and lost, will be livid fucking pissed about this. I would think that matters.

Gamblers may be a bit angry also. This is bad.
I was just at Top Golf with some buddies, one a big sports gambler, and this is what he said. He believes Vegas and what LSWho? Posted is most damning and consequential. A lot of power and money will be pissed off here.

They're going to try and hide behind the "Harbaugh can't be spoken to" thing, and it might save Harbaugh's bacon as an individual, but it's still a competitive advantage and should still result in penalties for Michigan.

With the way the rules are written any malfeasance within the program is Harbaugh's problem. No longer can a coach claim ignorance.

It's hard to claim ignorance when the guilty party is standing on your sideline during the game and speaking directly with your coordinators.

I can’t be the only one who went into this thinking nothing was going to come of it, only for every single day to be shocked by what has come out right? I mean F Michigan and all that but the amount of people on the internet catching these cheaters red handed is wild to me.
I went from having no understanding of how to judge this situation (check my early posts) to being hoovered up into the attention vortex of every update (as evidenced by my repeated updates tonight). I need to cut back for sanity and productivity, but I think this story is now clearly a big deal, arguably even more than some (but not all) of the recruiting shenanigans of the pre-NIL Era. With recruiting, at least you preserved the integrity of seasonal matchups and the internal competitiveness of games. If ever there was a case where vacating wins makes sense, it is here. You actually cannot trust what your eyes saw now.

Vacate the last 2+ seasons of wins and hit Harbaugh with a significant show-cause order. I think that's the minimum of what you're looking at for penalties.

If reports are true that schools are pissed with UM inside the Big10, what’s stopping them from saying bye to UM? Vote them out. It will never happen…. but I like saying it.
They could be independent

Nope.

Head coach can't hide behind the "didn't know" excuse. You are at the head of the operation, you are SUPPOSED to know.

If your coordinators are cheating behind your back, that makes you just as culpable. YOU hired them. YOU failed to supervise your subordinates and keep them in line. YOU failed to report it.

Bear in mind, I don't buy for a split second that Harbaugh didn't know about this. There's no way that's true.
