But putting all the blame on the players is gonna help? That’s who he is saying isn’t executing.
That’s incorrect. They went into this on ISD power hour. Freeman specifically said he wasn’t blaming the players and clarified what he meant.

The narrative will be how bad the SC defense has been & that’s fair. But…SC is #1 in the nation in TFL & #5 in the nation in sacks. Is anyone the Irish OL can prevent the SC front four from feasting on the QB?

Yeah, it’s the type of play Sam is used to having a wr that makes the catch or at least attempts to make catch and it’s incomplete

Should know by now Rico isn’t beating man

This is the strangest defense. They are number 1 in tackles for a loss and top 5 in sacks but they are also ranked like 90th in defense. Very odd defense indeed. It’s going to rain like hell. IMO, they need to get creative in the run game, block like hell, and run Estime and Love like 45 times. Keep Price on the sideline. If we have to punt a few times bc we run the ball so much so be it. Better that than turnovers. We absolutely owned Ohio State in the trenches. No reason we can’t do the same Saturday as long as they try to win. We don’t need to pass all game. Hartman will get wrecked if we do.

Here’s what SC will be focusing on…

I feel like there's an outside shot this game is our clemson 2022 game. Meaning, we have a good game plan, make some plays, and USC isn't ready for our physicality that we bring (even though we haven't last few games).

I sure hope so. Coming off of terrible performances vs Stanford and UNLV there was nothing that led anyone to believe we'd put a hurt on Clemson (Syracuse game was ok).

Just like this year, nothing to show we're going to play well other than Freeman has done a good job having the team ready for really big games.

If, and I really hope if, ND plays really well saturday and wins it will tell me that freeman has some ability but lacks consistency in what he's doing. I don't know if it can be learned on how to prepare your team every week. If we lose this game, he's not it, won't ever be, very confident in that. You do NOT go 8-4 with this roster and experience.

With that said, clemson was clueless at QB last year, USC has the best QB in college football. So I don't expect to flat out stop their offense, but they aren't a perfect offense either.

You'll probably see the broadcasters be much more Pro ND this week. They always hype the lower ranked opponents which people usually complain about here, it keeps common viewers engaged.

If not then NBC really does suck.

I have a feeling the O-line is going to play pissed off and physical. I'm curious to see how Fisher responds after getting benched the last two series and how Rudolph gets them to respond. This is where the game is going to be won or lost.

I'd normally agree, but our short yardage struggled last year and cost us despite oline playing well, they gave pyne all day. Our short yardage plays if not improved will end us again, because they require so much to go perfect.

Sadly the offense this season has devolved into what the ceiling was for last season’s offense:

Last year = Pyne to Mayer and pray the run game worked

This year = Hartman to Evans and pray the run game works

So even after making a clear upgrade at QB, the results are the same? I think we will appreciate more what Tommy Rees did w/ a QB last year who is now 3rd string at Arizona St & no WR corps.

An average OC is significantly greater than the worst power 5 OC, that's not too shocking when you think about it.

It's why i was only slightly disappointed when he left, but really disappointed when we settled for parker for a multitude of reasons.

I think every ND fan in America would welcome any average OC w/ open arms right about now.

I saw us favored with a 61% odds of winning. The points number was 2 1/2.
Is this not strange? Even with us home?

Point spread alone makes me think we win. Everyone is on USC after our performance last week.

i don't have that feeling. popular opinion was that the OL would play pissed off vs duke and the offense didn't put a single drive together until the very last drive of the game. at this point of the season you are who you are and ND has an OL that just isn't as good.

I think ND fans are on SC this week but you’re gonna hear media & non-ND fans talk about how they are set to finally be exposed. I agree SC will be exposed but not vs ND. The Irish seemed to be locked in & sky high for OSU and fell short. Who has SC had to get up for this year until now? No way they were up for ASU or UA and it showed.

The narrative will be how horrible SC’s defense has been and it’s 100% deserved. The problem is the one thing they can do well is get movement in the DL & get to the QB early & often. All Grinch is going to have to do is watch Duke & UL film and dare Hartman to beat them w/ the pass which is smart based on the past three games.

Just getting a chance to listen to the PC from yesterday. Did Freeman bump his head? When have we ever played fast? Our Tempo is slow, our running plays are slow developing, and our plays are just not fast unless we are playing TSU.

Two minute drill maybe? Lol. That's our best offense these days.
