0 receptions in a game I was hoping he would step up when needed and advance his game to the next level. Very disappointing!

Rico is a true freshman. He's not supposed to be our WR1. Merriweather is.
I know. He just happened to have his ”worst” game at a time ND needed a WR to step up. To his credit, he’s been awesome as a true freshman and made a helluva reception on the GW drive. Glad he’s Irish

On that first drive Tobias made a helluva effort on that long pass from Hartman. For him it was downhill from there in the receiving area. I’m hoping he made some nice blocks.

Doesn’t squat… but seriously his dad is annoying

I see nothing wrong with his personality and how he tweets.

"Let the bullets fly...."

That's what we are all doing, and not just directly and only his son. He watched the game. Saw the mistakes all throughout the game.

Dom Merriweather has said nothing bad about ND, Freeman, or anything ND related.

Damn right it was. I thought that was going to be the break the ice for him.

Hopefully he transfers
This is the last year he plays meaningful football for ND, He'll never play more and he's done nothing with it.

Greathouse and Rico Will be in year 2, Cam Williams will eat his lunch as a freshman, then there's Braylon Edwards, and Thomas will be back. I got shredded for saying this a month ago but it's just the truth.

He's been given every chance and is needed more than ever so whatever happens, happens.

Y'all are the worst
This ^

I would like to see ND use him more than just a deep threat WR. He saw very little PT last year & he didn't have a QB last year to throw to him.

My only question about Tobias is if not now, when?

I’m going to keep the faith he will turn it around so you and others stfu about it, lol.
You have been wrong about everything you've attacked me for over the past 6 weeks. Dead wrong .

I hope to God he turns it on but we've been given an ample sample at this point.

Lberry is right about everything though....

I am with you, I expected more out of Tobias, but I think he can turn it around, sooner than later. Too many armchair QB's.

I'm outspoken about things, and early.

Can you name a single spot I've missed?

Post 930: "This is the last year he plays meaningful football for ND."

Seems like he was on the field yesterday for every damn snap, the staff believes in him, it's still an early season. You have your posters who have thrown the towel in with him and I would like to see more, but he'll get that opportunity. I haven't given up on him.

The last year he plays meaningful football for ND.....

There's nothing in his game that indicates to me that he can be anything "more than just a deep threat WR."

There are literally no other WRs. Next year this post will be long forgotten but it's far more likely it comes true than not. Nothing I've said (TM, JD, Kiser, Independence) is ground breaking but the trolls who freak out when you point out the obvious because it's not exciting news need to do better next time.

You've got your opinion about Tobias and I have mine. Have a nice day

The protection for Sam was lousy last night. The running game and play calling were lousy. Don’t know how many times he might have been open but pressure kept the ball from coming out. He doesn’t strike me as a playmaker after last night but hope he can grow into the role. Duke has a stout pass D bottom line.

Btw where the F was Colzie?!

Colzie had his knee scoped this week. He is out for awhile.

I'm not a psychic, so can't predict his ultimate quality of play or value to the team, but against Duke he was bad (and I never say such things about our players.) My opinion about receivers is that maybe their top required ability is toughness at the moment of engagement --- and the concomitant attention to the often violent process of catching the ball. I don't see, and haven't seen, any of that character in Merriweather. Will he get it? Who knows? There is no evidence for that. We BADLY need another fight-for-it receiver. Flores was SO much better. Damm I wish that I wasn't seeing him this way.

Come on dude. I am upset about last nights game too but that’s not like you to say that.

After last night it just further proves we need him.

You’re right. I was way too harsh.

But he was awful last night. Like really bad. He basically let a ball hit him in the face mask on a crossing route that would’ve been a first down in the red zone. While I don’t think it was OPI, he needs to make that catch.

He was putrid.
