I was one of those people and I'm so happy to have been wrong. I'll gladly eat my crow.
Ok then if you don’t mind explain to me why you thought the game was over with 8 minutes to go and ND was down one point? Break it down for me like you’ve actually played organized sports ever in your life

We are not a fundamentally sound team especially on D. This will bite us in the ass at some point. Special teams are sloppy, Tackling is atrocious.

The offensive line penalties REALLY handcuffed the momentum of a number of possessions……especially in the first half. The missing WRs really hurt the offense. ND won the turnover battle with an INT and recovered fumble although they only led to 3 points (part of which could be attributed to the OL penalties. The ND defense played well and came up big when they had to and ND finished the game to get the win (which is exactly what did NOT happen against OSU). Ugly but not really unexpected. I’ll sleep well tonight and will look forward to some good news on Raridon and/or Thomas and/or Greathouse for next weekend. Go Irish!!! ☘️

Also, back to the “touchback.” How does the FUCKING BOOTH NOT KNOW THEY CAN’T REVIEW THAT PLAY?

Like that is unconscionable to me. How do you not know that isn’t reviewable? That was a huge play?
Independence! Refs forever against us.

I still can’t get over them admitting the punt should have never been reviewed but was.

They dropped a late INT and gave up a 4th and 16. Good to be on the other side this week.

Tobias…

On the flip, Evans!!

This team has playoff potential if coached well. They aren’t.

It's not even defensible anymore. These fuckin refs aren't even screwing us by the rulebook.

Someone tell me how Botelho gets thrown out. He wasn't flying in full force, he didn't make contact with the head/neck area of QB (and didn't come close), this shit is absolutely insane. <-- I can find 10-20 hits/game that mirror Botelho's

Take away one of our top pass rushers, start the game with 4 scholarship WRs that are healthy enough to play, lose the penalty battle like 10-2 and we still walked out of their with a W. It sure would be nice to see ND hit the gas pedal offensively next week.

Hopefully they get Raridon a little run next week. Was disappointing to not see him.

Being on the other side of a heartbreaker, living up to “good teams win, great teams cover,” while surviving ACC HQ’s best attempts to sabotage the winning streak…

10/10, no notes

It feels good to know that there is an upset 13 year old Duke basketball fan (recent football fan) in the suburbs of Whitehaven. He's probably driving his golf cart around aimlessly and thinking about life tonight.

Worst playcalling of the season, offensively.

Duke knows the Irish WRs suck. You have to find other ways to get the ball outside. Running Estime smack into run blitzes ain't it. No middle screens in the playback? Can't drag WRs into the vacated space? A fucking slant route once or twice? Jet sweeps? Pitches? Flare the RB out?

I saw none of that.

Also before the last drive, ND WRs had 3 receptions for 32 yards. Yikes.

Absolute slop fest on offense tonight. Great play call on the fake punt, but completely unimaginative after that. Even the clinching touchdown looked like the offense had no idea what the hell they were doing play wise, and Estime then made a big man play. Pre-snap penalties galore, horrendous rush recognition and blocking by the OL, WRs dropping passes and Estime looking a step slow (until the end). Defense played well for most of the night, but had real tackling issues in the second half - probably due to the offense not sustaining any drives, and them being gassed from being on the field a ton. Freeman needs to drop a hammer on these guys this week, because efforts like this will get you beat most times by good teams. Oh, and two penalties all night for Duke on top of the shit show on the coffin corner punt?

That being said, Hartman showed onions, Evans showed blossoming talent, and Cross showed timely playmaking and game wrecking skills. You never throw a win back, but boy, they have a ton to work on.
