There's nothing wrong with revamping and taking a different path. If the analytics make sense and you have confidence in your own coaching ability to develop the guys being brought in, then go for it. But I'll still go back to what I said.....they'll look like geniuses or clowns at the end of the day. Time will tell.

I'm leaning towards Rezac being a hit.

Jamie from ISD put it best when it came to LB's. Most of the best LB's recently taken in the draft were also safeties in high school.

Rezac fits that mold.

A lot of the 3-star defensive players Freeman is going after are guys who can just flat out close in on players. Rezac played a lot of safety and showed his ability to cover and close with his ridiculous speed for a guy who is 6'4. It's all about him putting on the weight and maintaining that speed. He has the frame to do that though.

Agree

Freeman is betting that his coaches can help lb’s read keys and learn block destruction. We will see

I think Rezac is going to be another Dru Tranquill, he is going to give 150% on the field.

And you really only need one of the clones to hit like Tranquill. Then have one hit like Bauer. The rest can get a medical or transfer. The last statement woulda been downvoteable pre-portal but now it is the way.

That's why I don't get all bent out of shape on the offers. This isn't the ND of old where a guys clogged up a scholarship for 4 years. They will likely ha e 2 years max and then they are gone. If you play enough numbers, you are likely to hit. I think everyone needs to get a blowjob and eat a gummy.

I'm 50/50 on it. On the one hand, I love that Freeman is making sure the class is complete, well-rounded, and we're not left with "empty" position groups (WRs a few years back, safety last class). I'm a big proponent of filling the class at every position to make sure we're never thin.

That being said...Freeman was sold to us as the guy who would put us at a different level than Kelly on the recruiting trail. This class isn't done, and obviously the last few classes have been very, very good - but we need to close the gap with the OSUs and Clemsons of the world first before even thinking about getting to a Bama/Georgia level (which, let's be real, probably is never going to happen). And this class doesn't look like it's going to be that next step up.

Again, I'm willing to be patient, and I do think there's something to be said about making sure every position is filled. But we need to start getting more top 50 recruits. It's as simple as that.
It’s never gonna happen unless they change the NIL rules we saw them start getting better at letting transfers in so there’s that

Teddy's twin bro. Assuming this is a PWO. Great get if so. Had offers from the service academies and Ivy Leagues

I was curious how this was going to shake out.

Nebraska fans really wanted NU to go after him so they could also flip his brother to NU.
They are still mad NU didn’t offer Teddy under Frost, & the first person Rhule offered when hired was Teddy. The family was huge NU fans & were offended by NU, a garbage program, not offering, but a top 10 program ND does and even pushes for him.

And the Rezac’s are teammates with Christian Jones, top 100 LB in ‘25 class, who’s dad played at NU, & has basically NU & ND as his top two so far, so NU fans wanted to get the Rezac’s & Jones all together.

One NU fan, who was speaking out his ass & full of shit, was saying he knew the Rezac’s & they & Teddy weren’t happy with his commitment & he was going to flip. I called him out on it.

I still think Jones ends up at NU, because of the legacy with his dad, and I think he wants to go somewhere else than the Rezac’s.

This kid is a really good athlete who played QB.
Funny enough, probably one of his best throwing games was the State Championship game.
But I can see him playing another position at ND if they need him too.

I was about to ask - are we sure he’ll walk on as a QB? Teddy is supposed to be quite athletic, I assume his twin is similarly athletic.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried him out at a number of different positions.

Give me all the guys who flat out win. The Rezac boys will help the program in several ways. Big, athletic winners.

Freeman stated he wanted 4 QBs on scholarship going into the spring.

Leonard

And then Steve leaves. He isn’t going to sit around. No QB will in this new college football. It’s highly unlikely to have 4 scholarship Qb. Not impossible but highly unlikely.

Where exactly is Angeli going? He’d have to drop probably to G5 to be assured of a starting spot. To what end? Or he can go P5 and wind up like Buchner and Pyne? Are they better off?

Or, if it’s Leonard, he can back up a guy who just missed half the season and might well get hurt again, while staying at ND at least to get his degree a year from now, and then transfer if Carr or Minchey jumps him.

I get what you’re saying but sometimes these kids should be a little patient. Angeli still has three years of eligibility to work with.

I'm sure there's plenty of schools that would take. None better than Notre Dame, but P5.

Indiana, Pitt, BC, Iowa, Illinois, SU etc.
