I would love to take my son as a celebration gift for finishing treatment, but I highly doubt he would stay engaged for the entire duration of the game.

I’m sure you don’t want to break them up, so let me see if I can find a buddy that is ok spending that to go.

To sweeten the deal, will throw in 2 for CMU. Want ND fans in the house. Might have parking for that, too.

Ohio state is replacing an OT that went in 1st round, their other OT that went in fourth and center that went in the 6th

They’re having some oline growing pains as expected and a first time starting qb
We’ll be in nickel all day vs osu

We just need to do a lot of packages out of nickel. Like freeman said, nd got complacent in man vs nc state because it was working and our secondary is good, then Armstrong got a little comfortable with his reads.

Vs osu is the game I’m hoping Marist really shines and creates a ton of havoc against an inexperienced oline and not a dual threat qb
Isn't ND's base defense pretty much a nickel defense?

The ND journalists I'm watching are pretty much saying the defense's Achilles heel is the lack of pass rush by the DL. They just have to get pressure against OSU. It's not a team you want to have to blitz and leave DBs on islands against.

And it looks like that tackle that went in the 4th should have gone in the 1st or 2nd at the latest. He’s been unbelievable so far. Probably the steal of the whole draft. Filled in for Conklin Sunday and made Sam Hubbard look like a middle schooler.

Yes base D…

From what I see is the dline most times is playing run first to keep the gaps smaller to ensure we can stop run with only 2 lbs in support. There’s almost no first down speed rush plays to get to the qb.

This should change some against Ohio state not having a real running threat at qb. D also like to see more creativity with our 5 dbs in

IMO McCord needs to be rattled into rushed passes, so it isn’t completely insane to at least try.

Get home early and often, see what happens. You can always dial it back if he picks the defense apart with quick releases on a drive.

I also think this is a game where people get so worried about the receiving corps, they neglect the fact that they have a stable of awesome RBs too.

I’d like the strategy be force McCord to beat us, and live with the results.

Don't let Henderson get outside. Don't let Marvin Jr make BIG plays, keep Stover in check. We do these things, we have a chance. IMO

I have a feeling Knowles will Blitz the shit out of us. Our receivers are young and the secondary is their strength.

Stover is a dude. It's easy to forget about him but he can make plays. Big game for our safeties and LBs.

It'll probably be a mix, but I may put Cam Hart on Harrison with help over the top. He matches up size wise and it allows Morrison an easier matchup to lock down. Put Morrison on Harrison and he probably still needs help so might as well put him on #2.

Agree with all of this.

If we can continue to slow down the run with our front 6, i believe we'll cause a lot of quick decisions out of McCord. I'm really confident in Ben Mo, Hart, Harper, Watts, and Mickey to challenge OSU passing game but Henderson and Brown still concern me in coverage.

No doubt knowles blitzes the crap out of us, especially to our middle/right side. How well they improve over the next 10 days will probably be a big part of how good our offense does. Our WRs/TEs need to read the blitz better and get into their crossers/slants faster. We could have had a few more big plays but our WRs were slow reacting and needing a split second more to break free and open.

I really wish on offense we wouldn't have Evans on the field every single play. I just think it makes us less dynamic. I don't think his blocking is good enough to warrant it.

I do like the thought of Cloud coverage to try and limit the deep shots and force McCord to stick it through windows but I just struggle to think we can generate pass rush with 4. We will have to blitz which likely puts us in man coverage. That is where things get scary.

OL is also going to have to show up and dominate from the jump.

Is McCord mobile? i haven't watched any of their games. If he isn't, I think people will be surprised by the push we get with 4-5

Pretty sure Hart and then Mickey are always on the field side and Morrison is always on the boundry and harper slot. I assume this will stay the same and ND has confident to cover him with all 3 and will mix in some help in some situations.

We can win this game. Might need a couple of things to go our way.

The closer we get to this game, the more bullish I get for the Irish here
I don't think we have to do anything special. If the oline improves a little and the dline/lbs are let a little more free to get to the QB and that's successful I feel like we're the better overall team.

I normally know we aren't the better team vs the big boys when we play them but I think we're good enough if x, y, z happen I can see us winning.

This game is the normal stuff, not losing turnover battle, not a ton of major mental mistakes, good adjustments, and make some good normal plays.

The spread is single digits, which is not the norm in these types of games with us vs a factory.

(OSU -7.5)

Notre Dame obliterated the spread against both Navy and NC State. I'm not sure Vegas has them figured out yet.

EDIT: and don't forget the 8.5 O/U on wins.

I thought Vegas wouldn’t have the O/U for games down yet since the change to a running clock after 1st downs, and hammered the under for the Navy game.

ND tried to singlehandedly obliterate 45.5 and made me sweat that one until the end lol.

Idk where you guys are seeing OSU -7.5. That’s old news.

I’m literally seeing OSU -2.5 on DraftKings right now.

This is correct, I definitely saw the pre-season line:
