It’ll happen soon. Probably this week. Zero reason to do that these past two weeks.I don't like the hate on him.
He needs to be used to utilize his strengths. Let him stretch the field vertically.
We have enough possession guys.
Stretch the field and let him go deep and teach him to high point. Stop throwing him screens
I’d like and hope to see more crossing patterns and deep posts in general, especially with TM. Our wr routes have been very very very boring so far through 2 games. Hopefully by design and we open it up some vs the WolfpackI don't like the hate on him.

There is almost always somebody open or a RB slipping out on pass plays. Sam hasnt had to squeeze much into tight windows yet. Some of it is competition, but some of it also scheme, the talent of the players including Sam, and the job Stuckey has done coaching them up.I’d like and hope to see more crossing patterns and deep posts in general, especially with TM. I'm hoping we don't have to open it up more against the Wolfpack and that we would wait until we play AN Ohio UniversityI’d like and hope to see more crossing patterns and deep posts in general, especially with TM. Straight from the horses mouth, he doesn't squat. It hurts his knees. It's in the video where the retired punter visited ND and jammed Merriweather twice off the line. It's actually a sweet ND video, wish I had it handy.Hole up…..
Does he really not squat or is that a meme? 😂
You're talking about that "6 star recruit" guy aren't ya? Somebody posted it earlier this summer.Straight from the horses mouth, he doesn't squat. It hurts his knees. “I don’t like to squat much” is much different than a no squat guyThat's it. 5:54 no squat guy.
BK clearly doesn’t have a Strength nor conditioning coach![]()
BK disagrees
No but he must have a personal chef……..who works at McDonald’s.BK clearly doesn’t have a Strength nor conditioning coach
Sure he does. Brian Polian.BK clearly doesn’t have a Strength nor conditioning coach
Catching up on this thread, this is exactly the point I was going to make. I'm getting a little worried Tobias might not have "it," but it would've been pretty easy and low-risk to just take a shot to Tobias over the top against TSU's overmatched secondary, but then you're showing your hand ahead of NCSt/OSU, etc.I’m guessing that he has 4-5 targets against NC State. At least one of those will be a deep shot.
ND is killing teams right now with an extremely vanilla and risk-averse playbook.
This is has been a rough week for BK. Numerous articles indicating that LSU fans already want him fired. Very cutthroat job down there. Would not be surprised if he really is gone after this year.BK clearly doesn’t have a Strength nor conditioning coach
Already concerned that Merriweather doesn't have it. He had 1 reception last year total.Catching up on this thread, this is exactly the point I was going to make. On the flip side, it made a ton of sense to get Greathouse and Flores involved as much as possible in the gameplan against Navy and TSU to get them comfortable out there, and they both look the part. The staff is trotting Tobias out there for a reason, I'm sure they see his skillset and plan to use it eventually. Perhaps this weekend?
I did predict that Tobias would get 2TDs and some more attention against TSU, but the more I think about it, I think you're correct. If you're playing vanilla football, your deep threat isn't going to be involved much.
I don't disagree and I think a lot of us are having our doubts about him increase, but I'd like to hold off through September (NCSt and OSU games) and see if Parker is keeping him bottled up for the right moment.Already concerned that Merriweather doesn't have it. I, honestly, think his biggest issue he plays tentatively and doesn't have great hands, which is a terrible combination. That's not going to work for a D1 receiver, especially at ND. Prove me wrong Merriweather.
Hope you're right. But send him deep and he will get open at times using that nice frame and speed. Can we count on him to consistently come down with the ball, especially when the game is on the line? This is my biggest issue so far. Not giving up on him but must get him going.I don't disagree and I think a lot of us are having our doubts about him increase, but I'd like to hold off through September (NCSt and OSU games) and see if Parker is keeping him bottled up for the right moment.
He's playing snaps for a reason, the coaches are aware of his careers stats through his first two seasons.
Anytime I see clips of him he’s dinking around, playing grab ass on the sidelines, etc. This is usually shortly after dropping a ball or not trying hard to catch one.Hope you're right. When you put it that way, he reminds me a little bit of your namesake. It took that one a little while too but once he applied himself, he turned into a hell of a football player for us. And will probably go on to do great things in life. Tobias will be fine.Anytime I see clips of him he’s dinking around, playing grab ass on the sidelines, etc. This is usually shortly after dropping a ball or not trying hard to catch one.
I question his seriousness. I’ve heard some insiders call him goofy. Maturity could be part of the issue. i could be way off base, but that’s my perception.
There's some kids out there that take 2-3 years for the lightbulb to go off. They eventually have an epiphany where they realize their time in college is almost up and they better kick it in gear. When you put it that way, he reminds me a little bit of your namesake. Agree. I don't think he has 3 years to ease into being competitive. I think Cam Williams should be a 5 star+. He's going to come in and eat everyones lunch, IMO. Greathouse won't slow down, Thomas is a Jr, Rico is already in the mix, and Braylon will be in year 2 and is every bit as athletic as TM.Anytime I see clips of him he’s dinking around, playing grab ass on the sidelines, etc. This is usually shortly after dropping a ball or not trying hard to catch one.
