Agree. I don't think he has 3 years to ease into being competitive. I think Cam Williams should be a 5 star+. He's going to come in and eat everyones lunch, IMO. Greathouse won't slow down, Thomas is a Jr, Rico is already in the mix, and Braylon will be in year 2 and is every bit as athletic as TM.

If he doesn't step on the gas this year I think his career gets interesting quickly (thank you Stucky!)
It's Stuckey...... It has an "e" just like Dingleberry.

If you're going to shit on the guy at least spell his name right.

And if that happens then Tobias will only have himself to blame.

If you're on a message board worried about small spelling errors, you're living wrong.

Thank you for blessing us all with the insignificant correction. Really adds to a point.

Ps, I was praising Stuckey for stacking the roster in a way that a highly rated player can be a miss and we don't skip a beat.

You're 0 for everything.

I see effort in blocking from him, but I don't see the effort in him running full speed on his routes every snap he's in. Couple that with being such a long strider, he looks slow at times, when we know he isn't.

I'm not going to lose hope yet because I thought he would emerge this year, if he doesn't come to play and make some good plays this weekend then my concerned radar will be on high alert with him. We have good athletes at the WR spot right now, but not much speed on the field. We're not scaring any teams yet over the top.

Big Game Toby about to go 5 for 110 and a tuddy on Saturday. Remember this post.
I'm going to remember this post either way. Not sure anyone was more high on him going into this year than me.

I'd like to see him playing faster off the LOS.

This would be awesome. One breakout game could do wonders for Merriweather and our entire offense. Confidence and a great game would suit Merriweather's career quite well.

Even if he doesn’t catch a single pass the rest of the season, at least we can count on Bryan Driskell to maintain that he’s a 5 star talent with more upside than Cam Williams.

Spelling errors? He was trying to be a polite chap by merely calling out aesthetics rather than your broken record “point” that you’ve been pushing regarding Merriweather.
He corrected an insignificant error right after trying to insult me. Polite? Lol.

It's become clear who has nothing to add to a discussion, but is just here looking fot 3rd grade level fights.

I was joking. Let me make it clearer for you then. Repeating the same point you’ve been making about Merriweather is not a discussion. It’s you sharing your same opinion a thousand times. We heard it the first time.
This is the first time I've posted about year 3 Merriweather/WR outlook...

Wrong Poopy Face.

And "adds nothing to a discussion"?? My 7:30 show is completely different from my 9:30 show.

You have your 7:30 show that has been on REPEAT for approx. 459 posts. Change them pants Jr.

You were closest. We really could have used him this game, to me dispells the theory we're just saving TM as a secret weapon against legit teams.

On the season: 3 catches, 50 yards, 0 TDs.

I noticed a 3rd and 4 and a 3rd and 9 when the game was still in on the line, and we went spread and he wasn't even on the field. Not sure if that was more common than the twice I noticed on 3rd and pasing or not.

You seem like the type that wants him to fail so you can come on here and puff out your chest saying “told you so”. It’s quite pathetic

Wrong. For this offense to meet the other tops in CFB, he has to be the guy. He's the most talented. I'd love for him to breakout.

I don't make statements and not follow. If my pre-season comments on Bertrand, Kiser, or Merriweather turned out wrong, there'd be pages celebrating it. I won't hide if TM breaks out, I'd be happy.

Sure it would be great if Merriweather could assert himself as an alpha dog WR1, but we have enough weapons, and a QB who can deploy them, that we don’t necessarily need him to be one right now. This isn’t like Mayer last year. We have a bunch of good options to throw the ball to.

Maybe Merriweather will get there, maybe not. But harping endlessly that he’s not there yet seems like you have it in for him.

He doesn't need to be alpha dog, you're right. An ideal stat line for him each game going forward would be 3 catches, 50 yards, .5 TDs. Hartman is dishing and if he can't give us that, others probably can.

The thing is, if you add in a blossoming TE room; you’ve legitimately got 9-10 guys who are going to get targets from Sammy Heisman. Tobias probably isn’t going to need to get more than 3-4 targets a game. He just needs to convert on them like he did yesterday.

If teams are forced to gameplan for our TEs, that should give him even more opportunities.

Perfectly said MacIrish, Hartman has plenty of weapons to throw to. When was the last time an ND QB had these many options.

What’s funny is watch his stride with the ball in his hands, then compare it to his stride on the Estime TD run.

You can judge speed in 10 yards intervals, and watch how slow his stride is on the catch.

Then go back & watch him on the Estime TD run. He is legitimately 15 yards behind Estime (not even on the screen), & runs past all the State DBs & catches Estime by the End Zone.

By how fast he was striding the 10 yards intervals he was running a legit sub 4.4 40.
But on the catch he was not even close to that.

Watch the game, and when they show the replay of the Estime TD, watch Tobias run by everyone like they are standing still.
