14 more weeks of this left to go. I'm not going to overreact to what I've seen so far. LSU and Clemson getting spanked wasn't what anyone expected, but I can't say I was totally surprised.

Ohio State's offense looking a bit pedestrian was a nice footnote.

Right now, it's Go Irish Beat Wolfpack. The Buckturds, Duke and Clemson will all have their time.

I think for Elko, it's the "big guys look better in hoodies" thing.

You're willing to sweat it out in a hoodie at temperatures 10 degrees higher than you should, because the man boobs and the gut don't look as bad.

Hoodie weather is big man weather... big dudes love to get an early start on hoodie season.
Did anyone notice if he was wearing Crocs with the hoodie?

This is one of the most unpredictable seasons I can ever recall. Everyone’s a threat.

I like Dabo a lot. I think Mike Frank at ISD hates him and I never understood why.
It might be because Dabo reeks of mega-church, wasp-y, kind of car salesman with a healthy dose of "gee golly". Dabo seems like a genuinely nice guy with very little introspection. He capitalized on some premier talent and fantastic recruiting but I don't think his approach can consistently payoff. I can admit there are many coaches I like far less, Dabo is just particularly unlikable when he's winning a lot.

I only know because I am that big dude that loves hoodie weather... even if it's not **actually** hoodie weather.
These are skinny tween and teen white suburban boys I'm talking about. In the midwest. I don't understand how they have no concept of dressing for the season. It's 100 degrees and humid in late August early September. Take the damn sweatshirt off and wear it in a few months when it's 40 degrees.

I see the same thing here……was at the Publix last week with blazing sun and it’s 98 degrees with 115 heat index at 2 in the afternoon. I see a young dude (maybe 16) walking in the parking lot to the store with his mom. He‘s wearing Crocs, pajama or lounge pants, long t-shirt, zipped up hoodie (the insulated type) with the hood over his head. I’m thinking…..what hell are you doing dude?!

This is the exact attire in suburban Chicago.

Unreal.

At least down here, if I've gotta stop in some place after the gym I put on a light hoodie because every place is so overly air conditioned that I start shivering while inside.

I think you absolutely nail it.

There are aspects of him that I do like, but for the most part he irritates me because he gives off that vibe that it's okay for him to get his but if anyone else is getting theirs he's not up for it. I could care less about what he thinks players deserve because he's not volunteering to take a pay cut any time soon.

He had Watson and Lawrence. The QB play has fallen off significantly since then and it doesn't take Bill Parcells to recognize what the difference is between winning championships and losing 3 games a year. If he insists on not using the Portal and NIL to his advantage, he's going to be left behind quick nationally in addition to his own conference.

But he looks really cool though, right? I see the same thing all of time and just shake my head and think, "What an ignorant, posing dipshit."

I know it’s very unlikely but in the unfortunate event that Day got canned and Ohio State went full throttle for Freeman and he bit, I’d hope Elko would top our list of replacements.

If that happens the first call that should be made is to Kalen DeBoer at Washington

Marcus Freeman, Mike Elko and Kalen DeBoer collectively come to 45-17 as head coaches.

Remarkable that we're discussing all of this hypothetical carousel movement after week one of 2023 predicated off of a sample size that small scattered among three different men, but I suppose that's college football.

Depending on the timing, wouldn't Ohio State call Luke Fickell first?

Depending if the results are bad in Madison or not, but yes they call Fickle 8 out of 10 times first.
