Sad?Well it’s sad. Felt like LSU dominated the first half and should have been up by at least two scores. Can’t remember when even at ND they missed on so many opportunities. Kelly was going gun slinger with all these 4th downs. The second half pivoted on two dropped passes. One that would have kept a drive moving while still tied and the other was the long sideline pass that was dropped that led to a punt.
Heavy vig, we can of course guarantee that 40-1 to 30-1 are not the true odds of an LSU championship now. With no other side to bet (can’t bet the field against LSU), Vegas can massively juice these odds and the only risk is losing bettors.Seems odd that LSU had 25-1 odds to win the title and dropped all the way down to 9-1/11-1 before the season. Then they come out and shit the bed in the 2nd half against FSU and Vegas still has them at 40-1, 35-1, and 30-1 now. I would think with BAMA and possibly Georgia down the road they would have dropped more because they basically have to win out just to make the CFP.
Let’s not spin ND into modern and aggressive under MF until he wins 10 games please! In life you have actually earn your accolades much like BK has earned the wrath of the ND fan base.I have lived in New Orleans for a third of my life. The number of LSU fans that I have had to listen to telling me that Brian Kelly is a changed man and he's going to dominate the SEC and he just needed to be somewhere that wasn't Notre Dame to truly show his excellence... it just drove me nuts because of course I was wrong. Why else would LSU poach him and pay him $100,000,000? And those two bad losses last year, that stung even more because we weren't sure what we got in MF.
But after over a decade of watching him coach, I knew this was coming at some point. Brian Kelly will be like Jimbo Fisher in the SEC, he'll win a couple here or there but he'll usually underperform compared to what he has talent wise and get rolled in most big games. He might "stabilize" the program, but I doubt he'll ever progress beyond the occasional sneaking into the SEC Championship on a year like last year when Alabama struggles.
And now, the team looks night and day different under Freeman than it did with Kelly. Modern, fast, aggressive, and competent. And LSU looks how ND did under Kelly.
Hang it in the Louvre
Yes.But at LSU if he keeps the program stable and wins 10 a year but doesn’t win a Natty is he still shit canned?
I guess he's only 61, but I'd be surprised if he coaches more than five years at LSU either way.BK left ND for the payout and he is getting paid. The more interesting thing is if he gets similar results at LSU that he did at ND does he stay 5 seasons? If he wins 10 games a year but doesn’t win a title is he fired? At ND he is kept on because ND’s standard isn’t really winning Nattys. But at LSU if he keeps the program stable and wins 10 a year but doesn’t win a Natty is he still shit canned?
“Urban Meyer” and he will get them another Natty.Yes.
It's the SEC. "It just means more."
Fan base will be disgruntled. AD and boosters will talk themselves into another big name.
That is true.Much more fun watching Kelly flop these days than before.
Classic BK-shaming shaming.
nah… you just disappear in the bayou. No mess to clean up.As a reflection of their French heritage, do the folks down there use the guillotine for executions?
Still no Forkbeard??
