I know people were upset he didn’t choose nd, but it was never going to work out. With handlers like this, I don’t know if it will work anywhere for this kid. It’s a shame

Anyone know what the NIL obligations were?
Think it has to do with promotional duties so the player has to promote the school/player on social media and the like. Could be wrong though.

Yeah essentially he had to show up at a few events and make a few social media posts and sounds like he didn’t do that.

Not sure why I’m bumping this with actual Dante Moore news. But here we are

The UCLA 247 site is saying it’s almost a certainty he will be leaving after this year. He hasn’t fulfilled his NIL obligations but still expects to be paid. Some talk his camp is already asking for more money before he’s even played a snap.
He could be enjoying homemade chips/salsa with ranch… but instead… his loss!!

Skipping events is probably a genuine issue. The donors expect some personal benefits from their money and being seen with the (minor) celebrity quarterback they bought is going to be a big part of that.

The most frustrating part about his recruitment is that this was obvious to everyone following his recruitment except Tommy and Marcus.

They wasted *so* much time on this kid and only pulled the nose up because they got lucky that a kid like Kenny picked up the phone in the 11th hour.

Side note: Anyone remember Loy's special PR piece he wrote for Dante and his dad after signing day where he insisted that NIL was not really important to them?

Literally caused me to cancel my ND 247 subscription and move it to the Xavier site. Just an absolutely trash example of a lack of journalistic integrity on Loys part.

I bet a mil he ends up at USC after this year
LOL, I was going to say he is going to be Caleb Williams, balling out as a freshman and then transferring. I didn't think about him actually following Williams.

That said, if UCLA are pretty confident he is going to transfer, do they even play him? Chip's last QB was the starter for a couple decades (or so it seemed). It might be better for them to invest the time in someone they think is going to stay, even if it means a lower ceiling this year.

Glad he didn't come to ND...and I was hoping he would be a headache for USC the next 3-4 years.

… Not to mention maybe Carr doesn’t commit to ND if Dante commits? Maybe he still would have as he’s an A+ all around student athlete. But one decision could’ve potentially ruined us at the position for years.

Went to barnabys last night. Yep the real one on Jefferson not the mishawaka monstrosity.
That's the one to go to. Jefferson is 10x better than Mishawaka.

Luigi's Pizza on Mishawaka Ave. is another good pizza place.

I think all the ND Analysts soft pedaled this mess.
The quotes I remember was Dantes dad didn’t like Notre Dame or they couldn’t agree, but it really wasn’t about an NIL. Well in retrospect, it sure seems like it’s all about NIL.

I believe people in the program through back channels were giving a positive spin on the Dante situation. Maybe it was Rees and his family and Reese‘s network but the staff obviously learned a lesson. I think this is probably a big learning experience for Marcus Freeman to pre-qualify the high-end recruits. Notre Dame is simply not going to be a large NIL school.

Dante seems more and more like a Rashada type which is a mess. Dodged a bullet for sure.

Lol and the Tims running cover for Loy as he dodges questions from subscribers on the 247 board about his work as a publicist for the Moores last cycle.

The most generous explanation for how Loy handled covering Moore’s decision was that he did a bad job and got played by the family.

The unfortunate part is that this kid is going to end up being a VERY good college quarterback… if his circle allows him to stay in one place long enough to develop

What made this thread switch from food to Moore?
I had it lumped in with the Alt thread as no need to open.
