Russia Invades Ukraine

Lost in the PMC conquering a city of a million people in less than an hour and shooting down a bunch of Russian aircraft during their “peaceful” March to Moscow is that this shit only happens because Russia is doing poorly.

Russia has done everything in their power to entrench themselves and slow Ukranian advances but they’ve lost nearly two thirds of their originally captured territory. Minefields galore, blowing up dams, blowing up bridges, threatening to blow up nuclear power plants… everything is done in desperation to hold their position. Ukraine recently crossed the Dnipro river and all the conversation is around Ukraine’s “too slow” advance rather than the fact that Russia continues to cede territory and suffer unsustainable levels of casualties.

OMM & LAX, great points. One also has to remember that after the initial start of the war, most of the advances gained by Russia were by Wagner. I don't see how Russia wins this.

Imagine saying Putin will win the war with a straight face 16 months into their invasion lol.

That’s like the US taking 2 years to invade Puerto Rico lol. Putin and by extension Russia look like a bunch of clowns and have lost no matter how this ends.

Ukraine liberated more territory in the past three weeks than Russia has taken in the last 9 months.

Scott Ritter is also a pedophile grifter, but that's besides the point.

Well then we might get a read of just how insane the Russians are soon.

... IF they let the plant lose integrity in some way, perhaps not going as far as Chernobyl, that still creates a big long-term mess in the surrounding area. It does not necessarily threaten to spread into Russia unfortunately or that might temper the insanity. I need to study this more, but it can't be a good thing.

The logic is pretty simple: If you nuke something you want, you don't get it. If you nuke something you DON'T want, it's probably not important. If you nuke anything at all, the "weather" might well give you (and Belarus) as much of a "benefit" as it gave your enemies (by windrift a la Chernobyl.) If you bomb anything at all, a bunch of other guys are going to arm your opponent WAY higher than they are now (as their war game has been to match your game with consequent materiel upgrades.)

So let's see: No ... No ... No ... and No. What's on the "yes" side? Imbecilism sponsored by mania. What will win the "board game"?

Would be interesting to know what kind of a retaliation strike it would be and where.

Another Putin victory

Turkey's also said that if Russia backs out of the grain deal they will enforce it with their navy. They've also made moves on the Caucusus vis a vis Armenia/Azerbaijan that Russia isn't happy with. Next thing you know they'll start screwing with Russian mercenaries in Syria.

Putin really screwed the pooch with this adventure.

Don’t forget the Greatest Generation. There’s still some of those war mongers in Congress.

What do US boomers have to do with this?
Have you not seen the tens of billions in cold hard cash Congress has sent the Ukrainian government? Have you not seen the tens of billions in weapons we've sent to Ukraine? Have you not seen the videos of Lindsay Graham orgasming about dead young men?

Boomers love this stuff.

Without that you have a bunch of Bucha's, killings, and repression of an occupied Ukraine. Is that preferable to this situation?

Sounds like less bloodshed to me. I dont think the repression would really change. Ukraine represses political parties and religious groups they find inconvenient, now who does that sound like?

Oh no the scenario you proposed is some false equivalency bullshit.
True or false. Does Ukraine ban political parties they find problematic?

True or false. Does Ukraine evict Russian Orthodox monks from their monastery?

True or false. Does Ukraine send soldiers in vans to grab men off the street to throw into the fight?

People can support giving money and weapons to Ukraine. I get it. I just wish they'd be honest about the reasons why and the people they are throwing money at.
