The more relevant fact to touch on to compare the job done is Elko took over a team that went 3-9 and turned them into a 9-4 team the next year. Freeman took a team that went 11-1 and ND went 9-4 his first year.
Nah, Duke played literally zero teams ranked last year. ND played six (including the bowl game). Switch the schedules and I doubt Duke goes 9-4 and I bet ND does better than 9-4.

Given Freeman’s inexperience, that makes sense. But also he interviewed Colin Klein (age 33) and hired Parker (42 and hardly “proven” at this level) for the OC job.
He is a very good DL coach and recruiter. He would be a fantastic asset for anyone in Florida. The defense is probably Narduzzi's anyway, but his development of DL wherever he has been has been second to none. High character family man too. He's what we'd want as fans and certainly what MF would want. I Don't know if he is interested in a DC job again.
I should clarify I meant up and coming, but successful coaches vs. proven, top FBS coordinators and yes, as I posted the above, I was thinking Klein may be the only one, but still he is with a solid FBS program and was a star player there himself so still kind of different than say the Tulane TE coach who was promoted to OC after Tulane's killer '22 season. And Parker is not in either group.

The way we were playing to end the season in 21 we may have gone 12-0 … definitely struggled out of the gates in 21 on both sides of the ball though
