How about Viliamu-Asa?Damn, we’re down Lambert and McClain. Two guys at the very top of their respective positional boards.
He’s not coming either, is he?

I’ve been concerned for a bit when you see scum and osu picking up recruits left and right it seems like while ND is in a lull. Maybe that changes this weekend. When is it appropriate to start getting concerned.
Don’t forget PSU.I’ve been concerned for a bit when you see scum and osu picking up recruits left and right it seems like while ND is in a lull. Maybe that changes this weekend.
Only if you go by last season and last season only. We’re ahead of PSU and scUM over the past 5 seasonsDon’t forget PSU.
Currently, ND is 4th among the Midwest powerhouses in recruiting & on-field performance.
That will upset some people, but it’s true.

presume this is Lambert?
I’m talking today, right now.Only if you go by last season and last season only. We’re ahead of PSU and scUM over the past 5 seasons
See response above. If you’re only counting the 2022 season, sure.
This saves me a great deal of time knowing all of this. I'm going to have way more time to devote to my yoga this fall.I’m talking today, right now.
Meaning what just happened, what is currently happening, & the trajectory of what is about to happen.
PSU & UM will both be better than ND this coming season on the field. Both will probably finish ahead of ND in the recruiting rankings.
PSU is recruiting really well under the radar (will get another top 10 class) & will go either 11-1 or 10-2 this season.
UM is recruiting good now that Harbaugh wasn’t an idiot in the off-season and will pull a top 10 class & will go 12-0 or 11-1 and possibly CFP again.
ND will go 9-3 or outside chance 10-2, and finish outside top 10 in recruiting.
OSU is showing weakness & both UM & PSU are pouncing on it. ND needs to beat them on the field at home, & steal some big recruits from all three schools in the region.
I know you are trying to be funny, but prove me wrong? This saves me a great deal of time knowing all of this. I'm going to have way more time to devote to my yoga this fall.
I'll have a real balanced center when James Franklin actually wins a big game.
I say we revisit this in December. Then you can take your 3-4 month break from football to get away from it.I know you are trying to be funny, but prove me wrong?
Franklin doesn’t have to win a big game to go 10-2. He only has two big games. I said possibly 11-1 because PSU gets UM at home & have had success at home against them.
PSU’s OOC schedule is WVU at home, Delaware at home & UMASS at home. That’s a 10-11 win schedule.
Michigan OOC is ECU, UNLV & BGU, all at home. They get OSU at home. So they have an 11 or 12 win schedule.
People can laugh all they want, but ND You as 8-4 regular season. They are looking at 9-3 maybe 10-2 this season. PSU & UM are recruiting & and playing differently today than they have recently.
How is that not true?

That might happen short term but eventually you would think the powers the be at ND will have to answer the question “what is ND if it’s average at football”.They are all in now like the SEC and Pac 12. Each year ND is going to slide further and further back, I'm afraid because they don't want to win big.
One of the true beacons of light in higher education that still mostly represents Catholic values. But your point is taken, applications go up for colleges when their sports teams do good at sports ball. That might happen short term but eventually you would think the powers the be at ND will have to answer the question “what is ND if it’s average at football”.

It’s kind of interesting but lots of Catholic Universities/Colleges with excellent basketball programs (Xavier, Gonzaga, Villanova, Creighton, etc.) but very few with notable football programs.DePaul, Marquette, St. Johns and Georgetown. And they would be fine with that because they have waved the white flag when it comes to competing.
I think it has more to do with logistics.Does Lambert just care way more about academics than football? I don't think he's taken any visits in the last few months besides 1 to BC.
They were driving? Boston to South Bend is a 15-hour drive. I’ve done it. But there and back for a weekend would be quite a lot.I think it has more to do with logistics.
He was relying on Traore to drive him up to South Bend for the B&G game. Traore was going, but it sounds like he can't make it.
Makes sense for him to make it to BC, since that's like 4 miles away from where he lives.
Might be why they ain't coming. They were driving? Boston to South Bend is a 15-hour drive. I’ve done it. But there and back for a weekend would be quite a lot.
Totally. Apparently Umeh also decided it was too expensive? But yeah, driving from New England to South Bend for a weekend makes no sense. And like you said, airfare ain't cheap. One of the challenges of recruiting nationally. But maybe part of the trouble here is we don't have a collective willing to bankroll unofficial visits.Might be why they ain't coming.
Air fare ain't cheap, and they'd still need to get a ride from the airport to South Bend.
He planned a visit, the visit isn't happening as planned, plates of Hot Pockets must now be thrown across the room. You guys are all Debbie Downers. What makes you think the arrow is pointing downward. A brand new head coach has a decent first year. We get a stud transfer at QB and now we suck. Yes Michigan is back. Penn State will probably implode somewhere along the way, and OSU is not the same without Urban. Give Freeman the benefit of the doubt. This is how it was in the past, with all 4 schools being good. We did fine in that era. We will be fine in this era too.
I’m not worried about these teams, I’m worried about the teams in the south if we are to win a Natty. QB is the key, and our QB room looks good right now and will be for a few years.
Why don't you take a few plays off there slick....Those schools are all in now like the SEC and Pac 12. Each year ND is going to slide further and further back, I'm afraid because they don't want to win big.
I don't see BC as a factor. 3 of his teammates just signed with BC and it's a short drive away. Guerby has always been Irish, IMO.![]()
