On paper, similar to Benedict Umeh, this seems like a slam dunk. However, this one seems quite difficult to read.

Last Friday, ISD said they didn't expect him in the class. However, this week Loy said that he thinks ND leads.

Though Loy also had a cryptic post in the last week about some in his camp, though not his parents, that want other options. And, if true, that seems rather obvious what that might be.

We'll have to see how it looks coming out of this visit.

His other scheduled visits are what, Ohio State and Penn State? Not the big NIL players.
Samson Okunlola last year fit a similar profile and never even gave us a look, wound up at Miami, where I'm sure he didn't get a nickel. This doesn't seem like that. More than anything Lambert just seems to be low-key and slow to the recruiting game. He also has some serious academic offers, which is usually a good sign for us. We'll see how it goes this weekend.

Loy made the comment, that was just my interpretation of the comment because I've yet to see any other plausible explanation for such a comment.

A few years ago we got stuck with a mid-level 3 Star TE who we were forced to turn into an OT who only got offered because his father was in the NFL…
No, we had a good Oline class with already one of the top tackles in the country committed and we could go after a high upside project that hadn't come close to finishing growing. Recruiting really well at positions lets you comfortably take risks for high upside potential but may also not work at all.

We did not get stuck with him, we didn't have to get more of a low risk option because we had fisher already that was as close to a can't miss oline prospect as you can get.

ISD also had a more positive outlook in today's Intel.

given his seeming lack of interest in recruiting, I wonder if those Harvard and Yale offers are more of a threat than his uncle.

If ND was questionable here in his recruitment, getting him on campus to visit is a win for ND. Kid seems like the right kind of fit for ND.

I'm not one to normally question ISD's intel, but I'd take their's on Lambert with a huge grain of salt.

Their intel speaks essentially that they have no idea where Lambert leans.

I'd say that Lambert visiting ND this weekend is a very promising sign that ND is up there, considering he's the first out of state visit he's made.

Yep. Lambert doesn't seem to talk much, and hasn't really engaged in the recruiting game thus far. He's hard to read.

The "leaning away" talk of late seems to mostly revolve around the notion that he's planning to not *only* visit Notre Dame, but also a few other logical schools for an OL from the Northeast. (This is a good thing, IMO. Kids should survey their options before committing. When they don't is when you tend to get late flips).

But all the reasons people liked him for ND are still true, and the fact is he visited us first. We're certainly "up there."

I was never worried about Lambert loving ND’s campus & atmosphere.
The only thing that matters in this recruitment is did he and Rudolph connect?
Whenever Lambert talks about other schools he talks about his relationship with their OL coach. When he talked ND he mentioned ND’s tradition, but never Rudolph.
Hopefully they connected this visit because that’s the most important thing for OL, more than any other position.

Post 112 is quoted "even better than I expected"

I would take that as he & Rudolph connected.
Well, he could’ve expected Rudolph to be an insufferable asshole, but instead he was just somewhat standoffish.

It’s all relative to what his expectations actually were 🤷🏼‍♂️

Is this Lambert's first visit to ND? If so, depending what his expectations were may be he had to see it for himself.

I like the culture that HH created for the O-line and I wouldn't imagine that would be a hard sell for a recruit like Lambert, but 🤷🏼‍♂️

You are parroting exactly what Driskell said.
